I Believe X-box 360 Will Be The #1 Selling Console In 2012

I've been reading alot of comments lately here on VGC things about "needing to talk" about UC3 sales and the disappointment in reviews of certain games, but what i have not been seeing in my reading is anything really about the X-box and what it accomplished or what it future holds.  I believe that next year MSs X-box 360 will have multiple sales explosions causing it to sell the most of any current gen console, why do i believe this you ask?  If you look at the Wii's recent sales drop its pretty certain that it will loose its winning steak this year and will not take 2011 let alone have any chance for 2012 especially since Wii U will release that will crush Wii sales.  As for the PS3 i think this will be MSs only closest competitor but i have my concerns for it next year where are the big games? you cant expect something like twisted metal and starhawk to do anything to HW, what about other hyped exclusives? 8 days caned, getaway caned, agent? i think we need an agent just to find out its whereabouts. . . there also wont be any of sonys big sequels releasing for it like UC, GoW, KZ, Resistance, ect., while MS will have console exclusives like Halo 4, Ryse, Fable Journey, Witcher 2, Minecraft, Haunt, Steel Batallion, and Project Draco along with timed exclusive Skyrim DLC and maybe even GTA5 timed exclusive stuff.

Now on to the meat of the thread about the multiple sales explosions, i believe this will be caused by the above exclusive SW list aswell as things starting off as early as ME3 release since ME started on the X-box.  I also believe that MS will not announce any new HW next year and cut the price of the current X-box 360, i believe the timing will be perfect they will do it along side GTA5 release.   This will have a significant impact in sales since GTA5 will not be the disappointment GTA4 was in terms of gameplay.  Sony will be in a tight corner they already cut the price this year with minimal impact in the western territories,  i severely doubt that they will cut again next year giving the edge to the 360 for GTA launch and holidays.

In addition to reading alot about UC3 sales and disappointment in reviews i also been reading and receiving mail about myself, things like you sold out!  No no no i didnt sell out. . . Sony did they were last to release a 500-600 dollar console this gen that to this day gets inferior multi plats, they designed a console and praised its architecture that to this day cant do cross game chat, custom soundtracks, install while downloading and full game installs, they hyped up games like 8 days, agent, getaway, and syphon filter, that are missing in action or got canned, others that took to long to dev. for that to some also concerned a disappointment, and submitted some with bullshots touched up beyond what the system was capable of producing, and the 3rd party exclusives that built the PS brand from 96-2005 are all lost and have gone to the X-box

I also believe MS is like myself they like to hide and stay behind cover when battling they didnt rush to go to $149-249 this year or rush to get the slimline sku out, there waiting for the right time when there opponent is at there weakest, i believe the PS3 and Wii have used up pretty much everything in there arsenal for this console war.  I believe they have run out of breath now, in 2012 360 will come out of cover blind firing and then charging out from cover with its SW lineup and pricing strategy

I disagree. I believe Xbox 360 will be slumping next year and hit 11 million (still quite good), especially when theres so many rumors about a Nextbox.

The PS3 will sell the most next year as well. There's final fantasy versus xIII for your hyped exclusive, and even if its not an exclusive it will sell PS3s. Not to mention FF 13-2.

No they don't, what a stupid thing to say. Japan is much much smaller than EMEAA and Americas, and is on par with UK. MS just needs to be competant in Europe to compete, dwindling down to nothing? no.

That said, without knowing what's happening next year it's far too close to call right now.

Price cut by as much as $100 as well as Halo 4 alone will go a long way towards that. Not to mention a few interesting things coming......which I can't talk about

OMG I hate your teasing

OT: I think it very well could because of the following reasons.

1. there's pretty much a 99.9% chance of at least a $50 price cut for the 360 and Kinect.

2. Halo 4 and the next COD (and maybe a few other exclusives to a lesser extent) will give a substanical boost to the 360, especially if they have special limited edition bundles for them.

3. Kinect will have more games by then meaning it will push the 360 at least like this year if not more (epecially due to the Holidays/price cut)

Now i'm not saying there's a 100% chance or anything that the 360 will be in first place next year but it does look more likely than not.

EDIT: But I must note that I basically said the same thing last year for the 360 and we see how wrong I've been about that

I really doubt it especially because of exclusives like final fantasy and Twisted Metal.

In North America, yes absolutely the 360 will be the top selling console of 2012.

But world-wide I believe it will be the PS3, as Sony has alot of momentum in Europe and elsewhere over the past couple of years where PS3 is currently the top-selling console, and of course you can't forget about Japan where the 360 is pretty much a non-factor. I just don't think that the 360's dominance of the NA market recently will be enough to allow it to come out on top in total sales next year.
