Marks said: - More American/European cars...less Japanese cars. And by less Japanese cars all I mean is don't put 40 Skylines, 20 Miatas, 20 Civics, etc. in the game. It's cool to have a couple variations of cars but I don't need 40 skylines. All we need is the R32, R33 and R34 plus maybe a couple racing versions.

I agree whole hearted with the bold. 3 Mustangs, and 40 Skylines (may actually be more) is inexcusable.
I also want more premium cars, 200 is nothing, and constant FPS at 60, no more dips to sub 30 FPS.
I also want Sony to make a damn wheel! Although the logitek one is awesome.

maybe liscensing issues gets in the way? i dunno.

No, that's only for Porsche and neither GT5 or Forza 4 have them.
Mustangs aren't expensive to licence, GT5 has 630 cars from Japan, and less cars from outside of Japan then Forza 4 (both are about 400, but with DLC Forza 4 numbers will go up). Ontop of that many of the cars GT5 has outside of Japan are standard. Aston Martins, Saleens, the 1 Bugatti in the game (Forza 4 has 3), are all standard cars. Yes Ferrari are all premium in GT5, but there are only 12 Ferrari's in the game (No base F430, no F50, no 360, no 365, no 355, no 250 [most expensive car in the world], no FXX, and no GTO)
Polyphony Digital has close relations with Nissan, and Nissan is very willing to put any car they have in the game (Nissan is willing to put their cars in all racing games). Because both companies are so close, PD ends up putting a lot (147 to be exact) of Nissans in the game. PD also has close relationships with other Japanese studios, and to make the Japanese industry even, they also include an unproportional amount (compared to outside of Japan cars) of Hondas (101 cars), Mitsubishi's (72), and Toyotas (86) in the game. That is ontop of the other Japanese companies I haven't mentioned. For reference, they only have 370 cars outside of Japan, and GM/Volkwagons Group are the two biggest automotive groups in the world (they should have the most cars in game).
Most of the Japanese cars in GT5 are repeats (13 Honda S2000's, only 4 mechanicall different), really crappy (Honda City Turbo[below], 20 Daihatsu's, and other economy cars from pre-1995), or just similar spec (They have a Honda Civic for every year in the 1990's, many of them are identical spec even if they are different year)
While it's true licencing Ferrari's, BMW, Lamborghini's and such are probably expensive, licencing Ford Mustangs, along with other muscle cars, low end BMW's, or Alfa romeos aren't expensive. So why are there only 3 Mustangs? It's likely because PD is Japanese and wants to promote car racing inside Japan again/
Polyphony need to adress this issue in future installments, and it will hurt the overall car count. However it's should always be quality over quantity.
