Forums - Sales Discussion - Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster is a MAJOR flop - we need to talk about it

Hardcore games don't sell well on Xbox. This is nothing new.

Damn this should've been on the Wii.

Edit: You should've done this with Resistance 3.

Core games don't sell well on 360 or PS3 imo MS came to the party to late with the whole motion control gaming thing. At least we know this is a sign for MS to get back to the Hardcore audience.

Rise of Nightmares is not a core game...

Check out my hype threads: Cyberpunk, and The Witcher 3!

This should have been released on PC from the beginning. The graphical sacrifice made to make it fit the inferior X360 architecture and Kinect's casual controls killed the game.

for a moment then i actually thought you where talking about the TV show.. (when i read the title) and i was thinking.. why do we need to talk about this? lol

im shocked at those sales!!! actually thought this looked kinda cool on Kinect

i blame the children...too lazy to get a job to afford the $50. seriously, you're 5 years old; time to start supporting yourself.

Hey guys,

I thought we need to talk about this:

Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster, a core game for Kinect, sold 14,064 copies in its opening week. Let's be honest here, this is a MAJOR flop. Not even the enormous Kinect marketing push this holiday season will turn this game into a success.

This could have an impact on other core games coming to Kinect and the next wave of titles could very well be the last, first and only one. People have been sceptical regarding Kinect core games all along and beyond the obvious problems of controls, there's also the question if Kinect core games would even sell in the first place.

So after the MAJOR flop that Sesame Street is, can we still say that core games won't work and won't sell on Kinect?

  • Child of Eden: 0.15m.
  • Rise of Nightmares: 0.07m
  • Sesame Street: Once Upon a Monster: 0.01m, but probably overtracked.
For comparison, THQ's Wii game De Blob sold almost a million copies.

since NPD said 50% of 360 sales were Kinect bundle(at least ~this year August),i do not believe VGC's motion game/bundle/nintendo system/game sales

btw,is Forza not a core game?(don't said optional, you counted CoE...oh and how is CoE PS3 version sales?)
