Make another Wii and this time be committed to it.

THEY NEED TO RELEASE MORE GODDAMN GAMES.

Its ridiculous how they abondoned the Wii. Gamecube was good, but they'll be steamrolled by the opposition if they don't realise this simple fact.

The key factor is the WiiU hardware, it has to be at least as powerful and have decent online, to let developers port most future X720 and Ps4 games without too much effort or dumbing down. Since developing costs will get higher, devs will try to put their games on as much devices as possible. If it's capable to do that, WiiU will have the right cards to win: some months of advantage, a different controller, the most popular first party IPs. Also they should pack "SuperWiiSportsU" in it and the price shouldn't be higher than 349$ @ launch.

1 - Wireless N . Wireless G needs to die.

2 - ditch the pad, come up with a flawless, lagless motion system

3 - make easy to use dev kits

4 - bettter software quality control

From all the talk going around online, the dev kits for the Wii U have been less than satisfactory. They either haven't been working right or just broke, I believe I read.

That's strange usually Nintendo is good with those. I think even the gamecube had a good dev kit

It's weird, I swear I remember reading about it on these forums, but I can't seem to find it. Then again, it just might be bull.

That was my thread, and it may very well be bull. I'm pretty sure the lines running from the Wii U controllers at E3 were just tethers to keep them bound to the stands, and that they were functioning wirelessly

Though that may not be the case.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Rename the Wii-U

Launch at $299 tops.

1st party games strategy similar to Wii

Have big hit 3rd party games also on Wii-U (CoD and AC)

Some 3rd party exclusives.

What next-gen? I don't think there will be one.

Wii-U is as much this gen as Kinect and Move is. All three companies have now relaunched their brand are now all three offer HD+motion. In no way does Wii-U necessitate a response from MS/Sony. After all, it's going to be playing the exact same games those systems already do. You could argue slightly differently with the tablet/controller but then you could say the same if the game incorporates Move/Kinect.

I see the next gen as being Cloud. All games streamed to any device. Even Nintendo is involved in those discussions.

add more online multiplayer games...that is what is popular these days...
also release head line titles during launch date....

They could/should change the design of Wii U to make it more different than Wii. Give it a more stylish approach and little bigger (for future redesigns!) since it doesn`t seem it will have Wii`s grey support. I think they would gain a lot from this and probably lose, in perception, if they follow their current design.
The controller should give the chance to a) store downloadable games from VC or Wii/Wii Uware on the controller itself and/or b) allow for SD card support to play those games anytime you see fit.
Let developers create apps for it as they do for smartphones.
In general, for the console, it would be great if you had freedom to choose the presentation/dashboard (developers could help create apps like templates for blogs) and let me rearrange it as i see fit (music, sound effects, colors, etc.)

The online experience either in game or just browsing the internet should be kept as simple: like a social network. I don`t have friends to add to play online. Let me browse some kind of menu so i can invite someone to play with. Make a social gaming network. And here, like HappySqurriel mentioned, the cloud service would do wonders: share pics, videos, music and... why not save files aswell? I`m stuck. I talk to a friend, he does the job for me! Happy me! :) Or i send him a video of where i am, or a pic, and he knows exactly how to do it - he can even draw something in the pic in the controller and send it like that.
Also, let me chose the online dashboard. Make it customizable - and easy to navigate it.

The games, well... keep making 2D and 3D games that people love, Nintendo. Be it Mario, Metroid, Zelda, DK. People sure love them 2D!
Honestly, i don`t have much to say about this besides one point: if you want 3rd parties to succeed, help opening up a market for them in that regard. get exclusives, make 2nd parties make shooters, racers, RPGs, etc.
Just give them a market in which they can make a business.

Also, in these days of impending doom from smartphones and tablets, advertise your great VC and "...ware" catalog so people know that on Wii U they can also get great games for smaller prices.
And please, make a Wii U Super Mario World! :D

That is an awesome idea and something a lot of games should have; the ability to take an in-game screenshot and either save it to your HDD or upload it to some image hosting site. In-game videos (something some PS3 games have had, not sure of the 360) could be uploaded to Youtube.

Uploading to youtube for others to see it or just help someone would be great too.
I think that Halo 3 and Reach and the latest COD games have this option but i don`t know of others that can do this.
