Figuring out how he's going to silence the Operation Rainfallers.

"Naturally the common people don't want war: Neither in Russia, nor in England, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, IT IS THE LEADERS of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy, or a fascist dictatorship, or a parliament, or a communist dictatorship. Voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is TELL THEM THEY ARE BEING ATTACKED, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. IT WORKS THE SAME IN ANY COUNTRY."  --Hermann Goering, leading Nazi party member, at the Nuremberg War Crime Trials

Had there been more stock, it'd do even better.

respect @ European Wii owners!

it may get a NOA release

LOL @ Nintendo of America. This situation is hilarious

- Xenoblade is currently the wii's ONLY AAA game this year LOL
- Xenoblade is currently the highest rated JRPG this gen LOL
- Xenoblade has reached #3 in the Individual charts which is higher than any JRPG in UK this gen bar FFXIII, half the other games didn't even make Top 40 debut week. LOL
- XenoBlade has sold out in a lot of major online retailers LOL

So if that follows for the rest of Europe it'll have a first week of between 30-50kish, which is pretty good for a game like this, hopefully it'll eventually reach or beat its sales in Japan (150k)

If France really was entirely sold out like reported, it could be even higher than that since they got 38k copies alone.

Unless France got a disproportiante shipment to their usual fraction of EU sales I can't see how that 38k number could be accurate and Xenoblade not beat out Ocarina of Time 3DS and Zumba in the UK.  Just doesn't seem to match up with a comparable UK shipment of 50-60k.

Well the 38k number was from http://www.gamekyo.com/groupnews_article19731.html%26hl%3Den%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3DLQD%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:en-US:official%26prmd%3Divnsfd">here:

I heard France is more into JP stuff than other EU countries so maybe it's not very far fetched.

Since the late 70ies, with joint projects (ex but 80ies http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ulysses_31) and full on in the 80ies/90ies with Captain Tsubatsa, goldorak, macross, captain flame, Cobra, DB, DBZ, saint seyia, wingman, ranma, lamu, sailormoon... and a ton of other animes, the french youth that is now of age to earn and spend has been bathed in a pot of japanese potion (in the 90ies, the youth show that had the anime aired for about 30 hours a week with over 50% of the active audience). Add to this a fondness of the french for comic in book format and you understand how mangas have boomed in the 90ies up to now.

Just as recently as july, iirc, there were 2.5M visitors to the Japan expo (joint with comicon but holding 3/4 of the floorspace)... where they had 4 booths showing Xenoblade, 1 Last story (and apparently a showing of pandora too).... And we've had a good amount of anime related games in the past (even VGC cannot deny the french particularity http://gamrreview.vgchartz.com/game/33881/saint-seiya-ougon-densetsu/ ). Now for xeno... I guess the french like their JRPGs =) we had a heavy import business in the SNES days.... with RPGs being prime merchandise. Oh and that whole 80ies, 90ies generation is now 20-30, working and with plenty of $$ to spend in niche games that carter to their second culture.

It may or may not, to me NoA has already made themselves very clear on how little they value their customers. Wii owners should never be "tested" and forced to jump through hoops in order to receive a high-quality game, no matter the genre. It was lame when EA did it, alienating when Capcom and Namdai did it, and down right repugnant when coming directly from NoA.

I hope they're happy sitting on those piles of money from Wii Play Motion and Mystery Case Files - all thousands of sales...

Until you've played it, every game is a system seller!

Great. Seems that demanding games have a chance. in the past few month it seems that only the mainstream crap would sell, like zumbas fitness, red dead redemption, cars 2, dirt 3, call of duty, and so on

so are popular games only "mainstream crap" if you don't like them. Guys, guys I found one of the fabled gaming gods.

And btw that is a horrible showing in the UK sales chart. Zelda 3ds got a 59% boost this week in the uk, so assuming the boost stays uniform throughout europe, OOT will sell 30k this week in emeaa, and Xenoblade Chronicles is under OOT and so should sell under 30k for the week. Then again maybe the UK hates jrpgs. Hopefully that French article is correct and it does sell better throughout europe because the game seems to deserve good sales.

LOL I just realized how Reggie could respond:

"To all you RPG fans, we at NoA have seen the demand in Europe, so in order to offer you a superior experience we are re-dubbing a 10 hour vertical slice of Xenoblade and releasing it as a 'guided first-person experience'. Ladies and gentlemen, I present to you 'Monado: Extraction Chronicles'! No need to thank us, we forgive you for all the hate mail, you may continue with the ass-kissing now."
