Let's compare Uncharted 3 and COD

In Uncharted 3, characters are slow. In COD, they are super speed almost like their on speed.
In Uncharted 3, characters have high damage. In COD, it takes 3 bullets (from ANY GUN) to kill someone
In Uncharted 3, guns have high recooil. In COD, guns have NO RECOIL
In Uncharted 3, teamwork is promoted. In COD, rambo style is the way to go.
In Uncharted 3, you get rewared for moving aroung the map. In COD you get rewarded for camping.
In Uncharted 3, the losing team gets an incentive. In COD, the losing team gets mauled by attacked dogs.

Kickbacks actually want you to move around the maps, unlike Killstreaks. You can win Kickbacks by:

- reviving team-mates (promotes teamwork)
- defending team-mates (promotes teamwork)
- avenging team-mates (promotes teamwork)
- assisting team-mates (promotes teamates)
- Picking up treasures(promotes anti-camping)
- Getting melee kills (promotes anti-camping)
- Getting sneak kills (promotes anti-camping)
- Hi fiving over a dead body (promotes teamwork AND anti-camping)

Not really seeing the similaritie

Useful info!

I just downloaded the Beta but still haven't tried it. Uncharted multiplayer is not what I am most interested in but it feels great to know they are promoting team work on it.

I agree with most of this though certain COD weapons do have recoil(AK-47, Commando, Famas(though it has little recoil) in black ops you actually do get rewards for traveling long distances(it also a requirment in order to get marathon pro) and capture the flag and demolition  do somewhat premote teamwork

but I agree(agian) U3 is basically anti-camper(which freakin rocks) also the maps(atleast what we saw) have multiple ways of getting to one destination, so one more disadvantage to campers(not that it was as big as COD)

Yeah, some of those were overexaggerations, but I was just pissed that people try to relate change into "trying to be like COD".

And even if it was, COD isn't shit. It has some good qualities. What's wrong with borrowing one or two qualities from a game. Gears was influenced by Resident Evil. Uncharted by Tomb Raider. Mass Effect by Gears of War. And probably many more games were influenced by other good games.

I'm enjoying the beta quite a bit.

What the hell is wrong with this people? If you don't like the game, fine but don't insult by comparing it to COD. I've played both enough to know it is nothing like COD. You would really be happy if they just took UC2 multiplayer and stuck into UC3? It wouldn't make it better. They are trying new things, to make things more exciting, to make you look forward to ranking up. In UC2, I didn't give a shit about booster. The only reason I ranked up was for the taunts. Not every goddamn shooter with perks and things are some COD clone and if they really wanted to alineate veterans, they wouldn't have done Hardcore mode at all. They could have gave you the middle finger and shoved the perks and kickbacks where the sun don't shine. Lastly, My bro, alone, ranked up to 54 in UC2, he knows the MP inside and out and he is enjoying the hell out of this.  You don't have to love the MP and yes, they have a long way to go before it's perfect, just please, do not compare it to COD. That is truly insulting to Uncharted fans.

Dude, I was just about to copy-paste this from the N.Dog forums until I realized it was you posting there.  Hah!

I completely agree.  This is a return to form for Uncharted to me, because the damage values are more representive of Uncharted 2 1.04 not any of the crappy subsequent patches.

Obviously, the multiplayer needs some tweaking for balance purposes. (That micro is almost too beastly, and the Kickbacks have a tendency to start a chain of getting medals that will net you another kickback activation too quickly)

But, this has taken elements from COD, but not the core elements that make COD what it is.  COD is a twitch based shooter, Uncharted 3 is not, and Uncharted 2 1.05 and onward, was close to being so.   I'm glad Naughty Dog has returned the MP that I found so dear.  (:

You have played the game longer than I have, thus it is unfair that you get more perks/rewards than I do, thus I am horrible against you and your might and now must commit Seppuku, thus I shall complain and compare this game to the game of all games that is of the shooter brand.

Uncharted 3

You have failed at shooting.

You have failed at reloading.

You have faild at CoD

You obviously tried so hard to be like the calls of duties and it wasn't a good run in the pants.  We hate you forevers.

Edit: I thought you wrote that. Wow, what a poorly written article. Sorry for reffering to you in my post.

Didn't have much of an issue, if any, with spawn camping. I've had more problems with just normal camping, and an occasional bad spawn (spawning, then the entire enemy team spawning where I did).

Your melle issue is going off your point (UC3 is like COD). Melle has always been unstable in Uncharted, and that's an issue, as you said, with P2P.  At least they fixed it by making it harder to run up and melle only.

If your point about customization was that it gave players an unfair advantage, what do you call the Boosters in UC2? You had boosters that functioned essentially in the same way (bigger clips) and were clearly overpowered (Situational Awareness).

I've haven't had any issues with FFA. I was afraid spawning was going to be a problem, but had no issues. The mode also works perfectly with the core game mechanics in my opnion. Not my favorite mode though.

Powerplays are awesome. Dunno if something like that was in CoD, but I like them. I hope BF3 implements something similar, perhaps in the form of extra vehicles. It makes what would be a one sided massacre into a funner experience.

Errr? LOLOLOLOL. Are you fucking kidding me about your point with hardcore mode? Uncharted 2 multiplayer has always been a polarizing experience. At time brilliant and fun. But most of the time full of frusturation. Uncharted 2 was more about boosters (COD), fastpaced action (COD), melles (COD), powerweapons, etc.

I've had such a consistently fun experience with UC3. Only time me and KylieDog ever raged quit was in the Chateu map (it's less open than Airstrip, so it's prone to more camping) or lag. I seriously fucking love the changes. To me, the game became a little bit more like Battlefield rather than CoD. More slow pased, more tactical, and more team (buddy) oriented.
