I've actually not had the time to play disgaea 2. I played through a decent chunk of Disgaea 1 before having to paly 3 for review, but I haven't ever played 2. sorry I can't be of more help.

that's 9 retail games purchased in 3 months, that HAS to be some sort of record for me. Not to mention the wave of great games coming out for the system in the future and it's surprisingly great DLC stuff.

I'm so sorry the Disgaea 3 review is taking so long, guys. I'm truly enjoying it and trying my best to ensure I play the most material I can. Not only is the game good in the first place, but the Vita options, features, and bonus content is amazing.

What exactly didn't you like about the 2nd? If it's the plot and characters Disgaea 3 most definitely doesn't take itself seriously, which puts it in a similar to vein to Disgaea 1. If it's the gameplay it'd be risky to suggest for you to get 3, as the Disgaea games just constantly pile on new and revise old gameplay elements as opposed to changing the formula entirely per iteration.

Well that's good because it was mostly the story, which felt like a 30 minute plot stretched over 20 hours, and not very likeable characters. I absolutely loved the characters in the 1st one.

Gameplay has always been solid - I guess I shouldn't say that I didn't like the 2nd one, because the gameplay alone makes it worth a playthrough, but I was just really disappointed.
