great news for every international us psn user

American PSN store now open to all
March 9th, 2012 Kamran Draeger

An electronics supplier in the US seems to have found a way to make the PlayStation Store available to users around the globe through online sales, something oversea PlayStation 3, PSP and moreover PSVita owners will profit from.

Although Best Buy’s website does not actually imply it, the system at hand allows you to use their online purchasing system without owning a US credit card. This is “inteded” so that orders can be made internationally under the assumption that “products will be used in the US”.

To do so the page has listed a substitute billing address, which is one of their offices, users can enter so that products may be picked up in store or also delivered within the US. How users outside of the country can profit from this is simple, certain goods such as PSN wallet funds can be ordered as digital codes instead of physical cards. Users at PinoyPS.com have confirmed that this procedure works.

This method of accessing the US store is probably not how Sony wants things done, though with the ever growing online market, it seems that they might have to think of ways to make their content available internationally, as users increasingly find methods to bypass their networks barriers.

It always was open .... you just needed valid american post code (Beverly Hills 90210 ftw) and psn cards from ebay.

As for empty promises I think people are exagerating - none of the stuff missing is critical. Through remote play is rather classic example of Sony making great hardware and games and then being incompetent at selling them.

Personally on my wishlist for improvements:
- better webbrowser
- pdf/e-book reader
- proper navigation software (with car stand and car charger this has potential of being kickass GPS)
- ability to create folders on desktop - especially usefull for minis lovers.

I own just as many well rated Vita games as I do 3DS games and I've owned my 3DS for a whole year, and Vita for two weeks. We got 5 or so potential import worthy titles from Vita Heaven. Tales of Innocence R and Ragnarok odyssey are already worth an import. Then you have the prospect of Resistance, LBP and KZ out this year along with new titles such as Ruin, Sounds Shapes and Gravity Daze. Not to mention unannounced titles at E3.

The animosity directed towards this device that is clearly alleviating the game library issue the PSP had is quite pathetic.

My only complaint is the lack of PS1 support, but they promised they'll patch that in soon.

I hope they release Ragnorok here or at least in USA so I'm not importing yet.

In case of severe drought i have 10-15 PSP titles to buy and finish and all of them are jrpg so ....

My vita gets it's first road-trip test this weekend, I expect between Lumines and Tales from Space: Mutant Blobs Attack I'll be adequately entertained.

Honestly guys, people are sheep.  Like, Sony's done wrong, but so has every other game company.  Hell Nintendo made a handheld with its eyes closed and had to get an add on for a second analogue stick... an add on for something that should be standard, and they get praised for it.  Microsoft is stealing money from its online users by making you pay for your own bandwidth to host games and they get applauded for it.  Sony looked at the handheld market, talks extensively with its devs, got a lot of feedback, made one hell of a game machine that they'd hope people would like to play with, made sure there was a great line up of games in almost every genre waiting for people to play, and they get slammed cause they didn't have enough time to test remote play and their PSX emulator so that most games they sell through PSN on the Vita work.  Honestly, you bought a Vita to play PSX games and to play your PS3?  The fud against Sony never ceases to amaze me, after all they've done for us, after all they've done to change the gaming industry, they're nothing but a bunch of shits in people's eyes and it makes me sad at gamers.

@darkknightkrta Really? Has everybody forgotten about what Nintendo did for the gaming industry? Back when video games were outdate, it was Nintendo who saved it with the NES. When handheld gaming wasn't as advanced as console gaming with the "Blockbuster" as the only portable machine, it was Nintendo who proved what handheld gaming can accomplish with the Gameboy. And when we encountered stops of innovation, it was Nintendo who brought the new and wow. Sony and Microsoft only expanded and copied what Nintendo did and you guys praise them like Nintendo didn't even think of anything. Nintendo will always be the most innovative company in gaming and it's sad to see who many people have forgotten about them.
