Intense thread here, I'm liking it.

Vita released over two weeks ago, and had a big launch lineup, but the honeymoon will be slowly ending for more and more people, like we see with PlaystaionGamer. It's up to Sony to get a steady release of decent games releasing, which I think they have in the works.

The main thing that seems to be happening that frustrates me is third parties or even Sony themselves who don't treat the Vita with enough respect. Stop giving us gimped ports of console versions. Don't even think of selling those same gimped versions for even more money than the console version. If your game cost $2 on the app store don't charge $5 on PSN.

I think the system is looking pretty good for North America and Europe, but that Japan conference was embarrassing. I wouldn't be happy if I was a Japanese gamer, especially after considering how the launch was more for western tastes to begin with.

Seems like developers are waiting to see how Vita's sales turn out before committing, but without their commitment sales will never pick up.

Just some random thoughts from me, hopefully I didn't sound too negative - hope to see even more announcements leading up to a big E3.

this is true, my friend who is so hardcore Vita its insane came to me today and said he is a little gutted he brought it at launch. i guess its not the systems fault.. it is just the honeymoon period if over and we are left with Expensive handheld with VERY expensive games

Where did this tread go? This isn't a tread about where you think
the vita fail, or who did what for the industry. This is about vita and it's game
People excitement for it. Want to talk about something else, find a tread for it,
or make your own. The trolling needs to stop.

@darkknightkrta Really? Has everybody forgotten about what Nintendo did for the gaming industry? Back when video games were outdate, it was Nintendo who saved it with the NES. When handheld gaming wasn't as advanced as console gaming with the "Blockbuster" as the only portable machine, it was Nintendo who proved what handheld gaming can accomplish with the Gameboy. And when we encountered stops of innovation, it was Nintendo who brought the new and wow. Sony and Microsoft only expanded and copied what Nintendo did and you guys praise them like Nintendo didn't even think of anything. Nintendo will always be the most innovative company in gaming and it's sad to see who many people have forgotten about them.

The only innovations you list in your post are the NES in the early 80s and the Gameboy in the late 80s. You'll have to do better than that.

trolling is trolling, there's other treads for that, I just read at least 6 pages
of bickering. Why? what for? The vita is the best console ever released to date, handheld
or not. Has had the best launch line up in that i can ever remember in my 29 years of gaming.
Everyone is excited for it, most importantly Devlopers or excite to make games for it,
The games will come, sales will come, bundles will come and after a while so will a price drop.
Sony is the only gaming company i know of that has always sold at least 50 million + of ever single console they've made, why are we worried about the vita?

@Sal.Paradise People can look up the other innovations online. I feel that's enough for people to respect Nintendo for what they have done, but some are things about the N64 are forgotten that I'll like to list.

The N64 brought a lot that we didn't care about at first, but later on their second nature. Rumble support, analog stick and directional pad on the same controller, first home console to have 4-player controller ports since Atari 5200, memory card socket on the controller, and different ways to hold the controller and play games on the using that style.

UNIT 13 is a great experience - have never had such a great shooter on the go... This sort of game sets the VITA apart from the 3DS (yeah I've got one somewhere but haven't played it since Zelda) - U13 is the sort of game that really hits the sweet spot of 'one more go' battle action - bodes very well for COD VITA and Resistance / Killzone VITA too!!

The only reason I've played by PS3 since getting a VITA is Journey (pure artwork in motion) :0

Damn, i really want to paly journey. But i'm away from my ps3, and will be for a few months...

I'll leave it at that. I never attended to return to this thread, but I felt I had to let Nintendo's innovation out there, this is the last post I'll make since I don't want to talk about the Vita anymore and I don't want people thinking I'm here to troll.

On a side note, I actually won a free Playstation Vita from a contest I entered in, which is weird since this is the first time I ever won something before in my life. It's the 3G launch bundle that comes with Uncharted, WipEout 2048, Little Deviants, and a carrying pouch. I don't plan on keeping it so I'll give it to my sister.

Right... If you really did win a vita, you wont'be giving it way. Unless you really are that big of a nintendo fan boy. Maybe you should give it a real chance, The ds is small change comported to the vita. You'll see, you'll be back.
