The Monarchy is not that. You cannot teach pride, heart and unity. 

When young people of todays society realise this, then the culture may regain some dignity.

On the contrary it was great to see many young ones today, feeling British pride. 

The government isnt even remotely close to what is the prideof Britain. A Government that requests publicly not to fly St Georges Falgs in the World cup as not to upset the ethnic religous communities. Get real.

The Monarchy is EVERYTHING that is the pride of Britain. I hold my hand on my heart to our Kings and Queens when I sing my national anthem.

I went to see it, and bought an English flag (yes, St George's Cross) just to be different.

I really do not understand my country's love for the Royal Family. They do nothing. They take away tens of millions of pounds every day from the elected government and splurge it on fancy uniforms, dozens of servants and the occasional air show. They could not be futher distanced from the average British person, and the lot of them are spoilt, stuck-up and arrogant. Hell, they don't even lead us into battle any more.

And despite this, we had over a million people lining the streets just to get a glimpse of Prince William and Princess Catharine standing on a balcony.

It's a part of British history, yes. That's why I can sort of understand excitement at, say, a coronation. I'm sure I would be somewhat excited as well, because it would be a new supreme leader of the country being appointed. But to be this excited about a largely symbolic wedding with no actual significance, except that maybe in 40 years or so Catharine will be Queen Consort and do precisely nothing, is... rather odd, don't you think?

EDIT: I will add that it's lovely that something can peacefully unite the country like this, so perhaps it's better not to complain.

My stance on monarchy: meh, she's a useful ambassador and net financial gain for the country. Doesn't magically make country better or worse, I don't know why people have such strong opinions for or against it.
