So in the future when the English language finally kills off all other forms of language and becomes the standard world wide who's accent do you think will prevail? you know like how in most movies of the future the American accent/english is the dominante form

and how mutated do you think it will become? 

ex. mom and mum

Hahahaha, English as the dominant language. :P We'll all be speaking chinese in the near future.

But if it will, probably American, even though most countries teach traditional English, Tv and the internetz reform it into American.

The accent called Mandarin.

And science fiction movies produced in hollywood of course use american english. Russian movies generally use russian.

Language has and will always evolve.

if english will take over as the standard world language, it will still continue to change, it will have different dialects all over the world, just as every other language including english has now.

Everyone will have Newfoundland accents in the future.

Sorry, I can not take this thread seriously because it is so obvious that kiswahili will be the dominant language when Africa is finally united, and takes over the world.

in any case, considering how my fellow french people speak english despite the large access to US accent based cultural material... I doubt any accent prevails ever.... (Unlez iu zink dat ziss acquecente eis ze ouane iu weant?)

its funny how 300 million chinese speak english, making it the largest english speaking nation in the world. 

i doubt one accent will rule them all. 

on the Mum -> Mom thing: English started in England and because of that Mum is correct while Mom is wrong, like honour, colour, valour etc. I dont know what the USA have against U when "U"SA is so widely used. 

Indian accent. More Indians speak English than anyone else.

But really English will never be the first language of the majority of the world. So accent will still be determined by the person's first language. Even among native English speakers there'll never be one accent...look at USA and the UK, huge variations within a single nation.
