Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Nintendo descending into hell?

this sounds like school holiday nonsense haha

I think many full grown adults actually believe in sky wizards and hell.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

hahahahhaha. Do i smells a troll??

It has been 4 hours since I last checked. Is Nintendo doomed yet?

Ok i love meltdowns, but it needs to stop now, Ninty has a subpar first half year, theres still the rest of the year, come on now

I agree. 1 doomed thread a week is enough, but a quick glance at Nintendo discussion shows 5 made yesterday...

The issue is, if I say what I REALLY think, I'll get banned. There has to be a better way...

OT: Not a chance. 3DS has sold over 2mil in a month, has the best Nintendo launch EVER, the DS is still selling well, Pokemon is out of the park, and the Wii is beating the 360 and is near the PS3 WW despite being way out of date, a lot cheaper to make and having no games as of yet this year.

The 360 has a slim, loads of games, Kinect and million spent on advertising, and it's STILL losing to the other consoles...Nintendo should be able to gloat. Microsoft are in for a hard time.

Yet why no hate for MS here? ALWAYS Nintendo...

Here lies the dearly departed Nintendomination Thread.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

This is a legitimate concern for me. I really think they're caught in a death spiral.

yeah nintendo is doomed....then the holidays come around and everyones shut-faced....

Nope not at all.. Even if they recieve a major blow with the 3DS and Wii decline like you say, they've earned a ton of profit from Wii and DS to the point where they could probably withstand a major decline and still be ok. If they can survive the Virtual Boy, Gamecube, N64, etc, they will no doubt be fine now.

I don't know where some people are getting this doomsday stuff about 3DS. Sure, it probably won't sell as well as the DS, but then again what will? It still seems to have a really strong library, particularly of third party games, where Nintendo consoles are usually lacking, so by that merit alone it should recieve decent sales. As long as Nintendo provides a strong library, it will sell, simple as that. And if and when Nintendo ever wisens up and throws out anothe 2D Mario for 3DS, forget about it.. the thing' sales will become monumental.

I wonder if playing 2D Mario for the 3DS will be comfortable, given the position of the D pad..or maybe the slide pad is also good for 2D games.
