Lol there is some serious fanboyism showing in the polls.  Gears 3 will easily outsell Uncharted 3.  Gears 3 is the end of an epic, will be touted to no end and back, is already known for its stellar online play, and has a very devoted fanbase.  Yes UC3 has multiplayer, but it is more known for its single player experience. Yes, it has a devoted fanbase; but that fanbase is millions in numbers behind the Gears fanbase. And, yes, it will be touted to no end and back; but shooting based games simply sell better on Xbox. All this and not to mention that Gears 3 is going to be an extremely big exclusive fish in a small exclusive pond for MS; whereas UC3 will be competing with Infamous2 and Killzone3 (similar longevity genres).

inFamous 2 and Killzone 3 are launching within the first half of the year, Uncharted 3 in the 2nd....

Also, did you play Gears 2 anywhere near launch online? It was just broken, shotguns were king and that was mostly down to luck. Of course horde was unbelievable, but that is not everything.

Uncharted 2's online is one of the most underrated in my opinion, really fun, well balanced and the real key is that I am quite good at it. ND haven't revealed their plans for multiplayer, but they have said that they want to take on CoD, so they are clearly quite ambitious, and they have succeeded with pretty much everything they have tried this gen

But I think Gears will edge it in sales, but it matters not, I will be buying both and hopefully loving both!

I'd bet Gears will sell more, though I expect Uncharted to sell a lot too.  Already something like 142,000 pre-orders for Gears and still a while before it comes out.

The advertising drive, hype around Unchrted 2 was pretty big at the time or have you forgotten?

Uncharted 3 will probably launch with 1.5 million or more. Gears will do better. I wouldn't be surprised if U3 outlegs it though.

Sales wise the most obvious choice is Gears of War with the previous two games outselling both the uncharteds, but you never know as the popularity Uncharted has grown by the reviews and word of mouth & its legs you never know

Mp since we know nothing about uncharted 3 its hard to say but as that comment they made about trying to be the best mp experience its clear they will be putting effort into it i loved Uncharted 2 mp 

(im gonna say uc3 mp will be better then gears of wars but im only guessing obviously) 

Review wise Uncharted 3 wont beat Uncharted 2 reviews even if it is a better game as it will suffer the same fate as kz3 and lbp2 they might be better but get worst reviews :S but as Gears of war since its the last in the series i think it will get hiighher reviews but also probably deserved scores

my preference however is uc3 even tho i Gears of war will have higher sales & will probably get higher reviews, i love the uncharted franchise its my favourite game! 

conclusion = both are obviously great. (but then again both could Flop)

I'd say Gears 3. The only other outcome is that if Uncharted 3 see's the same amount of improvement (sales wise) that Uncharted 2 had over Drake's Fortune, then I can see Uncharted 3 maybe legging it out over Gears 3. The launch will easily go to Gears.

man you should put a third option to it...a statistical tie...i see them both doing like 6 million LTD...
