1. Codes will be controlled by matching from blue-ray disk.. -> Nothing hard to create Keygens.

There's something called a database...

Who the hell cares? It was Sony's own damn fault for screwing up so monumentally that it could have been confused for intentional.

So any company without a perfect security system has only itself to blame. Thieves robbing your house couldn't be blamed for doing it because you didn't happen to live in an unpenetrable fortress.

If you got robbed because you left the front door key under the mat then your insurance company probably won't pay out because they'd consider your lax security to be the cause for your own misfortune. I.E. you didn't take reasonable steps protect yourself from harm. Sony is the one people should blame for the negative effects from the PS3 getting hacked. Hackers will always be hackers, robbers will always exist, but people are still at least required to take reasonable steps to keep themselves away from harm.

Tease.

This is...kinda clever O: I wonder how they will deal with the problem fo the people who dont have internet access though...

You know guys it actually doesn't make sense. How do Sony make 1,000,000 Blu Ray discs and then give each a unique key? If it were possible to give each disc a unique key then surely the PC publishers would have done so years ago.

They enact a hidden feature of the blu-ray drives that lie in every person's PS3!

It burns a special ring onto the disk locking it onto the one system! o_0

Ah, remember that rumor? lol

It burns a special ring huh? Well that still doesn't help if they bypass the BRD. Thanks to the expandable HDD slot you could fit every PS3 game you cared about onto a 500GB HDD.

Tease.

Are people really so poor they need sell their games so much?   If you really need sell games so much to fund new ones then just join gamefly or lovefilm or whatever your country uses like that.  It is cheap and you'll get many many more games played out of it.

This shouldn't even be an issue at all for new buyers if they keep games and if you trade games in you're doing it wrong anyway, that is far from the best use of money.

Actually I rarely ever sell my games but I also like the option to do it.  Something like this would make me not purchase any Multiplat games on the PS3 thus deneying Sony my money.  If I want to purchase a used game, I do not want to have to worry about this crap when I do or if I can give it away to my friend or sell it to someone else.

The problem with this plan if Sony would actually implement it is that it would not stop Piracy and it probably would not stop pirates going online.  With custom firmware, PSN can be bypass or circumvented. If dedicated servers are used, they would also need to be doing the serial check and they would also need to keep track of how many unique PS3s are using the serial.

The only thing this DRM would do is make it a pain for legit customers and give the Pirates ways to circumvent this very easily.  It would be no different from the PC and it will not stop pirated games from going online.

How exactly do you think Lovefilm or Gamefly could rent games for PS3 anymore if they only work on 5 consoles?  You could have rental copies that are unrestricted but then the pirates will have a backdoorinto this system to create unlimited uses.

Assuming this was ever implmented then you can say bye bye to rental services imo.

So it a game ps3 game can only be used on 5 different systems?? If so that sucks balls...

5PSN accounts. If you have your account on a second console then it wouldn't be a problem

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

Except that hackers can theoretically unban themselves. They _do_ have complete control over the system, remember.

Therefore, without some kind of key-based system, you can guess what's going to happen.

They have complete control over PSN? Somehow I doubt that

I do not see how the Wii, 360, or DS have been "destroyed"

PIRACY DEFENSE SQUAD ACTIVATE!

but but piracy doesn't hurt games sales, look at black ops thats everything. Black ops=every game

but but but... I'm not defending piracy. Thankfully Sony fans are so concerned about piracy that if Sony raped their moms and said it was to prevent piracy then I'm sure most of them wouldn't mind... Which is sad really, since PS3 used to be somewhat of a good console. 2 revisions and 2 moves against piracy later and it's basically an entirely new console.

Sig thanks to Saber! :D

If Bluray has been cracked easily so will this. To the people that go through 5 PS3's and worry about the game not working i'm sure Sony would help you out there providing you give total proof of birth and have been through the courts to proove it. Problem comes for collectors years down the line that want to play an oldie called killzone and cant get it to run on the ps3 because of these codes. Anyway by then there will be a ps3 emulator and the discs will be easily available on the net anyway. To be honest WHY is anybody surprised 2 conglomorates like Sony and Microsoft do things like this? They don't give a crap about customers anyway
