1st I consider a game profitable if it has sold over 500k copies therefore the games included in my totals are only games over that number in sales.

2cd I do not include download numbers since VGChartz does not track them

3rd To be exclusive means it is not available on PS3 or 360 PC, PS2 ETC dont count. Games like MLB The Show and Test Drive are included. 

Right now the 360 had 36 while PS3 had 38

However , the 360 games sold a total of 87.89 Million copies

While the PS3 sold 69.17

That is a difference of 18.72 

Now the big question is will Sony's Killer 2011 be enough to push it over the top or will MS monster hits be enough to keep it on top? 

Microsoft does well with bundles so Kinect adventures will continue to do well plus add in another 5 million selling Gears and a potential Halo reboot combined with a new Forza and MS has some big hitters.

Sony should get some nice help from LBP 2, Killzone 3, Resistance 3, Uncharted 3, all look to break 2 million then add in Infamous 2, Socom,  Motorstorm and Twisted Metal  as title likely to break a million and finally MLB The show, Move Heroes, Team ICO, The Last Guardian and DC Universe look to break 500k 

I believe that by the end of 2011 Sony's profitable exclusives will pass MS in total sales if no new Halo is released.

Not this year. I'm sure it's not going to be Gears 3 and Forza 4 vs Uncharted 2, Twisted Metal, LittleBigPlanet 2, Killzone 3, Infamous 2, etc. MS will have more exclusives unveiled at E3. And their are some new IP's that have potential to be a million seller.

This is a very unfair way to judge a game as being profitable. 3D dot hero sold about 300k and was regarded as a massive financial success for Atlus. Since they only needed it to sell around 40,000 to make there money back.

I do not consider 360/pc releases as exclusives, so I guess the ps3 has won already imo lol.

Honestly the only thing I see for Microsoft this year is gears... We barely know anything about Kingdom so how can we even anticipate that will sell over 1mil copies ? Forza 4 meh its a good franchise, but its not a franchise I expect to be a huge seller. Things are looking better for Sony because they have more games coming out. Also yes at e3 Microsoft might announce something, but don't you think Sony will also ? I really don't expect much from Microsoft until the Holiday season as always. Sony needs to worry about the Holiday Season the most. Thats usually when Microsoft pulls the rabbit out of the hat.
