Titanic hands down

Titanic was the better movie but Avatar was visually orgasmic.

So, probably Titanic.

Avatar, just.  They both have pros/cons over each other but Avatar overall was more consistent and had the better script.

I wouldn't put either anywhere near a top 100 of films though.  They were well made and decent in narrative so I don't begrudge them (or Cameron) the big financial return, but they're miles off in terms of best script, acting, depth, etc.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I thought both movies had a descent story. Putting my Scifi interest aside. I would give it to Avatar over Titanic.

Why because the car scene in Titanic just jarred me from the movie. The Romance was broken and just spiraled the story for me. In Avatar it more than made sense. As it was part of his transition from Human to "Hey Listen".

Squilliam: On Vgcharts its a commonly accepted practice to twist the bounds of plausibility in order to support your argument or agenda so I think its pretty cool that this gives me the precedent to say whatever I damn well please.

Titanic is boring for the most of time but at least it has a decent story and acting, while Sci-fi Pocahontas 3D remains pointless imo.

Definitely Titanic for me... and it's not even really my type of movie (unless you see it with a girl, of course).  A bit overrated perhaps, but a decent movie nonetheless.

Avatar was hugely disappointing, IMO.  Aside from the CGI (which was great from a tech level, but from a creative level I've seen better), the movie was incredibly predictable, about two hours too long, and, well, just plain boring.  It really saddens me that this is the new king of the box office...
