Forums - Gaming Discussion - Castlevania: LoS is THE best looking multiplat Game

Totally agree.

Looks almost as good as God of War 3.

Only some character models could be better and a bit more anti-aliasing, the rest is on par.

Im so tired of these posts about casltevania being the "best loking game...".

The game has a static camera, and by doing so feels limiting, dated and borderline frustrating due to camera sucking ass in some moments. The cost at making this game good looking was too great and really wasn't worth it... Taking that visual movement freedom away from the gamer in 2010 is criminal and knocks it down visually in my eyes.

Not to mention that gameplay is completely dwarfed and plays second fiddle to its presentation and voice acting. Thats a blasphemy for castlevania games.  I played around 4 hours of it and then returned it to blockbuster for Enslaved with is much better.

Hope it fails badly and that they never try making a serious, story based castlevania with second rate gameplay.

Also, where the F*** are the heavy metal inspired tunes? Nothing I like about castlevania series and 10 games I played fromt hat universe is present here.

I'm so tired of you crying about how you percieve the game to be bad in every Castlevania thread. Its a good game and by you giving it 4 hours (which I doubt you did because earlier you said you gave up after 2 hrs) you didn't do it justice. The game gets exponentially better the farther you go in and its almost like the first 2 chapters are introductions to the story and how the game is played. The sections become quite longer in each Chapter and the puzzles and platforming become a bigger focus of the game. But you didn't give it a chance so you wouldn't know.

I think the game will sell just okay,I'm not getting the game,as there's just to many other games on my radar, but I'm glad you like it. lol

Prince of persia looks better IMO, plus it doesn't hae framerate issues

Crysis 2 IS the best looking multiplat game

It WILL be the best looking multiplat game :) Well, either that or Rage.

Better than Enslaved?  That's a pretty tall order.  I guess I'll give it a go after I finish Enslaved this week.

I wouldn't be rage-ing on the game so much if people weren't making these "best eva" threads. People seem to be so blinded by the visual polish that they can't sem to realize that the gameplay is last gen stuff. The visuals everyone is talking about have taken away every ounce of exploration and have made the game feel like its on rails. They throw in a few branching paths (both of which usually have repetitive combat and get to the same area)and thats supposed to be "exploation" castlevania series is known for?

Im sure Killzone 4 can be the "best looking game eva" as well if it becomes a rail shooter.

As far as visuals I think enslaved destroys it. The moment I put Enslaved in and got back camera control and 360 movement,  it felt like like night and day compared to lords of shadow

I actully played the demo, and i have to say i enjoyed the atmosphere and the dark European style of the game, graphics wise i think it looks extremely good. but i think i've reached a point now where i personally cant tell if theres a noticable difference between games, i think say something like this and FF13 looks so good, i cant tell the difference unless i was to look at them side by side.

i'll probabily pick it up in a few weeks, the reviews have been a bit harsh on it though - is the game actully really good or bad, or somewhere in between.

Its really good. The first chapter to 1/2 of second chapter is slow moving but from there the game takes off and becomes an amazing experience. Tons of different beautiful environments, tons of different enemies, puzzles, platforming, some exploring, lots of mini bosses, top notch character design. Its a good game and easily worth the $60.
