Forums - Gaming Discussion - First Vanquish Review : And it's Good

*From PLAY UK Site*

When it's in the zone, Vanquish is about as good as action gaming can get. Much more than the 'Gears Of War only faster' many were expecting, it draws upon the best ideas from a wide range of influences and blends them into an eye-bleedingly intense whole. The best game of the month.

After the surprise success of Bayonetta, Sega and PlatinumGames return with a shooter that is in contention for game of the year. Vanquish is a fast, frenetic and, above all else, fun shooter that manages to meld a wealth of established ideas together into something that feels fresh. I think it will certainly surprise a lot of people and is a perfect mix of both Eastern and Western gaming styles.

Of Course That's Just My Opinion, I Could Be Wrong

I'm getting it without actually looking at review scores, but I actually think this will wide range of review scores ranging from low to high.

Good to hear, seems like PlatniumGames will be making many more great games as it seems they have people with good ideas. Cant wait to get this.

Was there any doubt here? Shinji Mikami, as far as gaming pedigree, is wedged right upthere behind Miyamoto and ahead of Kojima...

I wasn't really impressed by the demo, but I guess I'll check it out at some point.

Especially if it gets generally good scores.

As far as I'm considered, this game could very well be this gen's equalivent to Resident Evil 4.

I'll get it when it's on sale..

What?

Pixel Art can be fun.

Danm,I wanted it to be bad because  have so many other games on my list to get. I need to clone myself so I can play more.     Same thing happened with Bayonetta I was reall hyped about it, than when the PS3 version turned out to be lazy porting I decided to buy it later. Yet, now I have no desire to play bayonette. Vanquish just might be a repeat.

Looks like there's going to be lots of tough choices to make in the very near future.  Too many good games.  I'm hoping that this one stands out from the pack as a new IP.
