Forums - Gaming Discussion - The Official TWO WORLDS II Thread!

RELEASE DATE

Europe: November 9 2010 on Xbox 360, PS3 and PC
USA: January 25th 2011
UK & rest of the world: February 4 2011

Two Worlds 2 is a third person open world WRPG. It's the sequel to 2007's badly received Oblivion-clone Two Worlds (Pc and X360) but developer Reality Pump took out all the bad from the original and is about to release a quality game this time. It has a fleshed out main quest but its focus is creativity, freedom and choice in a huge world free to explore. Comparable with Oblivion in size the world is 60 square kilometers of which 25 square kilometers is land mass. (Oblivion total world size was around 40 square kilometers, mostly land). Including side quests the single player campaign will take you over 100 hours with potential for much more.

There's lots of room for creativity. Character customization in Two Worlds II is very much like Oblivion where you determine your physical appearence including facial features in detail. There are preset classes (mage, archer and warrior) but if you want you can specialize in anything during the game.

You can customize your weapons by combining different materials, make unique potions with alchemy ingredients and create hundreds of different custom spells with lots of cool effects by combining orbs and crystals.

MULTIPLAYER and ONLINE

There are three online multiplayer modes in Two Worlds II:

  • PvP mode - 1 on 1 combat battles in arenas
  • Adventure mode - unique online co-op maps for up to 8 players, separate from the single player campaign.
  • Village mode - for up to 8 players on a map which is unique to multiplayer, a big island where each player has his unique village and players can do quests together, roam around or trade between villages among other things.

The online is organized through a hub city where hundreds of players can meet and join to play different game modes.

It's already looking great.

Now it's time to polish and fix some bugs. That's the only thing I'm worrying about now.

I believe they can put up a good console port this time around.

I know I already said it a few times, but Two Worlds on the PC was already a pretty decent game. Even people who hated the 360 version (which I also played for like 20 minutes) should give the sequel a fair chance.

Even in the 360 version the main gameplay elements were done right, but got destroyed by the countless bugs, enormous framerate drops (well the whole game was basically running at 20FPS) and serious balance issues.

I'll pick this game up if it's not a buggy mess like the first one. I guess I'll have to wait for reviews to come out before I give it a go.

themanwithnoname's law: As an America's sales or NPD thread grows longer, the probabilty of the comment "America = World" [sarcasticly] being made approaches 1.

Slimebeast, you have done a good job in hyping this game even before this thread.

Im like 90% sure Im getting this (for PS3). I just need a few more previews talking about gameplay and Id like a demo too.

I will watch this videos you posted. Some I havent seen before.

Keep up the good work.

PS - You say that release is October 21, but thats in Europe. In US, release date is October 5. Maybe you should edit.
