This could potentially be awesome.

Now we just need some really good splitscreen experieinces...

Don't you own a 3D DLP TV? You can do this with 2 consoles, and 2 copies of the game already...

RealD makes an adapter that combines 2 videostrams in sequential checkerboard... I think it costs 1000 dollars lol

I sure do.  2 consoles and 2 copies of the game the adapter?  Ill pass for now.  Waiting for Mitsu to offer their "real" adapter package.

Its already out no?

Amazon had it almost a month ago but its sold out now... - http://www.amazon.com/Mitsubishi-3DC-1000-HDTV-Starter-Pack/dp/B003KTN0B4/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1279640288&sr=8-1-fkmr0

I was thinking of getting one of these along with an HDMI detective to trick it in to working with my Samsung DLP, but there really is no point. My PC has bluray which works for 3D movies and PC 3D gaming is a whole lot better than Ps3 3D gaming will be for a while. Nvidia 3D glasses are great as well...

when theyre done raping the early adopters and the price drops, im down

Last year's game of the year turned out to be Silent Hill : Shattered Memories (online GOTY was COD 6).  This year's GOTY leader to me is Heavy Rain.

That's actually a really good use for 3D glasses, but:

  • You're still using 3D glasses which is still a fail
  • Max 2 players in a world where people seem to deman at least 4 players

Its like using a long shoehorn as a back scratcher. Its really not meant for it...but it works :)

3D TVs are really not meant for this, but its a little bonus feature...As long as they don't charge any money for an adapter or some BS like that, I'm for it.

awesome idea.

If you want to play 4 player, they should make it so that it's 2 player on each single screen so that you won't have to put up with that annoying 1/4 of a screen.

Could make for awesome 2v2 games.

I LOVE ICELAND!

Very cool, but better make sure anyone not playing is out of the room. The changes on the screen will be brutal in terms of headaches.

lol for sure, or I wonder if you purchased a few more sets of glasses if you can choose which pairs sync with which players screen?  This is some interesting stuff for sure, because I still play a ton of split screen games especially madden (dont flame me its the only licensed football game and I need my football fix) and am sick of my cousin always knowing which play im going to run because he can see which formation im choosing a play out of.  I know you can audible but whenever we play split screen I can never run the ball on him, online is a completely different story.  If this is implemented right, then that my means no more screen pickin lol.

This could require a TV with a very high refresh frequency (400 hz ?) and the console would have to be able to display 30 fps at least per player. Maybe a nightmare to sync all this

Like I said, these would required different glasses than the 3D glasses, so this would be an additional cost.
