Well their attempt required them to take huge finacial losses. So I don't know if I'd call it a "good attempt."

Ultimately, Sony managed to not completely kill the Playstation brand this gen. That's worth something I guess.

PS3 will overtake Xbox 360. It’s just a matter of time. Sony has a good lineup for 2011 and I think we will see another $50 pricecut for PS3 around next spring.

There just isn't an answer to Kinect and 360s. Especially considering 360s is the same price as PS3 Slim. And it would appear that it's the 360s selling and not the pricecut models due to rise in availability and rise in sales of 360.

360 already got a price cut of 50$, didn't it? Agreed, the chances that the ps3 will get a price cut are slim but there are still GT5 and Move.

I thought people learn from their mistakes...2008,2009 and now 2010. I'm hearing the word "Doomed" too often. People should think twice before typing that word.

he's trying to count his chickens before they hatch. nothing is out of the realm of impossibility. lifes to long to give in. we still have 4 to 6 yr's left in this gen according to the big 3 (not just sony).

expectations of consoles to be shipped for this yr would say other wise, and the gamer  predictions on this site(which for some reason are nolonger seen) are another indication of what may or may not happen(even though none can see into the furture).

your giving in to easily. beleave in the potintial for anything to happen.

Also, if it makes you feel better. The PS3 sold more than the 2nd and 3rd place consoles of last gen. In due time it'll sell more than both the Xbox and Gamecube combined. Clearly there is a demand, just not nearly what Sony hoped.

As far as sales go the only real chance the PS3 has of surpassing the 360 is if Microsoft launches the next Xbox, sales of the 360 would slow down a lot and the PS3 might catch up

 

 

outside that possibility I don't see the PS3 catching up to the 360..... but I could be wrong

You're saying it will have mega sales???  They just lowered price $50 on older units and came out with a slim and are gettin 250k a week in sales.  That is like 2.5x more than it was getting.  Slim ps3 came out, went from like 300k to well over a million. That's over 3.3x.  It won't have "mega" sales, but ps3 prob won't catch it.



Money can't buy happiness. Just video games, which make me happy.

No, that's not a price cut. Those old consoles will be gone very soon. When the Holidays come we'll only see a $300 and $200 console.

GT5 should be big for PS3... whenever that game actually gets released. I'm not expecting much for the Move. Its a $100 bucks for the starter kit, you still need the navigation control, some games require two Move controllers, and the software seems crappy so far. Its unlikely the Move will sell many consoles and its a hell of a lot cheaper to just get a Wii.
