Thats another thing that's stupid about MW2.  A good game lets all the players start on an even playing field.

I have to agree, but FPS devs of many series disagree for a few reasons:

1. Time-based rewards as most evident in the World of Warcraft builds a fanbase who may drop $10 to $20 per month if they ever decide to make a MMOFPS out of the Call of Duty Series.

In this sense, they are priming the fans and weeding out those who are not enamored with their game. All of it is to gauge just how big of a gamer base they would have if they turned Call of Duty into a MMOFPS.

2. Number vanity. I am fairly sure Robert Bowling AKA Fourzerotwo and his ilk flaunt stats that show Modern Warfare 2 is the most played online FPS for no apparent reason than sating their ego and keeping their job for another Call of Duty game.

3. Devs believe a fully even game with all guns available at lvl 1, no kill streaks, no death streaks, and a variety of maps that cater to all playstyles ranging from camper, sniper, run n gunner, and on will  not sell among their core audience who wants to be rewarded for their time spent playing multiplayer.

4. Status. The longer you play, the more pins and insignias you have to brag about. If the game was completely balanced, then more people would have pins and insignias, thus diluting their worth in the eyes of other players.

Real life =/= equal fun. Your logic is invalid.

Real life examples are made to point out the absurdity of the logical positions fans delve to defend their game.

I have spent 2 full ingame days playing Modern Warfare 2. I know the game, I know why I put it down, and I know now that Modern Warfare 2 has taught me to never buy another Call of Duty game again.

The only people who adamantly defend Modern Warfare 2 are:

1. Fanbois who by their very definition are devoid of all logic when it comes to what they are a fan of.

Fanbois are like severely mentally retarded women on the rag. All emotion and no sense.

2. Closet sociopaths, losers in real life, and psychopaths in general.

Fun is not using your superior advantage of experience in a game to prey on other predators like a one man lion pride. If you find deliberate, systematic preying on other players fun, then you need to find a therapist to discuss your mommy and daddy issues with.

3. Individuals who have never picked up a copy of Halo or Battlefield.

In my personal opinion, these are far better games because unlike Modern Warfare 2, the maps are not dedicated to campers at the expense of every other play style. In both Halo and Battlefield, you can play however you want, but you will not be able to go on a 30 kill kill streak and end the match automatically.

Don't get me wrong, I hate MW2 as much as the next guy. I've put 113 hours into the game (which pales in comparison to some other online shooters), a good bit more than you if I am correct. I also know the game, and I also know why I quit.

One of the reasons was it was eating up my life. I know that I am an addictive person. Even when I absolutely hated the game I just couldn't stop playing.

Although I agree that Halo is much better than MW2, I'd never call it anything extraordinary. Change your statement to "Quake/Unreal/ Team Fortress and Battlefield", and then we can be in full agreement.

Glitchers and hackers are my main problem with the entire Call of Duty series.

Why not just make a custom class with cold blooded and a rocket launcher? That solved many of my problems and gave me quite a few extra points

I am not really a huge fan of online multiplayer games, but I have no hate for MW 2. It pisses me off occassionally, but luckily there is a solution, STOP PLAYING IT

Apparently I didn't make this point clear enough, but the reason I'm complaining about the lack of such a class in the defaults is because it punishes low-level players.  The custom class you describe is exactly what I make ... at level 25-30 when I unlock the pieces.

That doesn't take that long to get to, it rewards persistence and encourages you to keep on playing

Agreed, Quake, Unreal, and Team Fortress should be on that list because they were powerhouses in FPS multiplayer int the late 1990s and early 2000s. I should also add in Counter Strike too since Counter Strike really popularized online FPS multiplayer.

That's just not right....MW2 has to be one of the most unbalanced games ever to disgrace the gaming industry.

The biggest problem being that it's highly acclaimed by most game reviewers and it was nominated for GOTY by the AIAS..... is the gaming industry that easily blinded by hype? Halo 3 has it's faults, but it's still very well balance and fun to play. Modern Warfare 2 is a clusterfuck, even Haze was a lot more balance than MW2.

I play a fair amount of MW2 and I rarely will complain about the things you've mentioned here.  I hate playing against campers as much as the next guy, or noob-tubers, or any of the other crappy way (IMO) people play the game.  But once you know how they are playing, you can adjust your tactics, particularly if you are playing with teammates that communicate.

I admit not having a good air-defense class early on stinks, but the FAMAS class and UMP class are available early and are very competitive classes otherwise I think.

Some of the hate for this game in this thread is strong though! HAHA.  To each his own I guess.

Wow I'm LTTP for this thread huh...
