How Much Will The New 360S Sell WorldWide In Its 1st Month Of Release

TIPS

PS3 Slim launch sales numbers 1st month

New 360 S Details

Releases 6/15/10 NA and 7/16/10 Europe

$299 and £199

Comes with

Console with external power brick 250gb HDD

Xbox 360 headset

Composite AV Standard Definition Cable

One wireless Xbox 360 controller

Features that 360S has that PS3 Slim didnt

Wireless N built in

5 usbs

Last gen B/C

Touch sensitive buttons

Glossy black finish

Extra 130gb HDD space

We'll have to take the four weeks it releases in NA and then the four weeks it releases elsewhere to come up with are total.  I've seen alot post lately saying that MS's E3 flopped harder than a walrus and that releasing a new slim with the same price of Elite is a bad idea sales wise.  I see different going by the tips section you'll see that the new 360S has many features the PS3 Slim didnt have and the PS3 cost more than £199 in the Europe territories I believe will see the 360S sell around 2 million in its first month of release an increase of 20% over the PS3.

Post what do you think the new 360S will sell in its first month? and why

Off to watching the Sony conference

Care to bet on the above bolded?

I hardly think that the new slim model will increase sales from about 400k a month to 2 million

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

A shitload.  Already sold out all the preorders...

2 million consoles during the middle of summer.... I doubt it. Maybe double  the number that its putting out now and alot of those systems will be to people upgrading their old system.

btw, if sony announces a new system it will probably increase sales a good deal to. ps3 has been alot hotter than the 360 for a  long time now.

the thing is most of these are going to be existing xbox360 owners, so although it might look good in hardware sales its all going to be irrelevent as i dont think many will be new customers therefore decreasing the attach ratio for software to hardware

Add me if you want but let me know youre from this website

i have to agree with you stokedup. Plus consoles just don't move that good in the summer. the 360 hasnt even broke 100k for a week in over a month.

Most of us upgrading will be selling our old systems.  These used systems go to new 360 customers.  Attach ratio will not be affected negatively very much if at all.

Not exactly a stellar time to launch a remake of a console at a higher price. I don't understand why they didn't wait until fall/winter. Yes, they need momentum but the product itself could have less of an impact overall when launched at a slow time of year.

By all means, releasing this console is a terrific idea but the time in which they put it on the shelves is less than stellar imo. It will surely bump the numbers considerably (50% increase for the summer months, probably near double numbers for the first couple of weeks). The real test is to see the sustained hardware bump, we all saw how much the PS3 Slim fell after a few months, even after having launched at the perfect time (fall) and with the price actually going down instead of up.

Why didn't they wait and launch this alongside Natal instead? Would have made a lot more sense to me.

It's not a higher price.  It's the same price as the current system model but you get way more.

Also, I'm sure when Kinect releases that is when they will announce the price cut to the systems to boost the sales again at that time.  For now MS will enjoy raking in a ton of profits from the cheaper to produce 360.
