Forums - Sales Discussion - Gran Turismo 1-3 sold more than the Halo series combined

I'd say GT5 Prologue is just about as much of a "full game" as Halo 3 ODST is...

as the guy said on the last page

We already know GT5 has over 1000 cars; GT5p doesn't even have 6-7% of that... [has around 60 or 70]
We already know GT5 has over 40 tracks; GT5p only has 6... 12% of that of the full game

Also it doesnt have the same damage effects as the full game

GT5p was marketed as "a sample" of GT5. It's a taste of the game... What could only be desribed as a demo!

And ODST could be described as a mission pack.  It's a simple extension of Halo 3, with almost entirely recycled multiplayer even.

Like I said, neither is exactly a "full game".

GT5p is nothing in comprison to size of GT5, even the damaged models on 1000 cars isnt in GT5p

but there is nothing different about ODST and Halo 3, the weapons are the same, physics and gameplay, exactly the same the online play is the same there is nothing different, except, it is "slightley" shorter in terms of game lengh

GT5p is probably 9-10% of GT5

ODST was probably 75-80% like Halo 3

not really a good comparison

It's half the length for the campaign in ODST.  The fact that it was made in one year, using the H3 engine, and was originally planned as DLC, then as a budget release, sorts of speaks to how much of a "full game" it is.  That's the only point to the comparison with GT5P, neither a "demo" or a "mission pack" should really be considered probably.

I'm not familiar with the specifics of Halo:ODST [couldn't even remember it as you can see above]. None the less, 5vs4 or 6vs5... still a huge exaggeration, Garnett.

Don't you just love pissing matches?

To be fair, at least Greensburg or whatever his name is put "shooter" games against halo.  Which is at least in the same field or near the same field as Halo is.   So GT5 can't really be compared properly.

Since this is a pissing match, lets 1 up it.  Would any of you trade the Halo franchise for the GT franchise?  I would bet money most of you wouldn't.  Halo is clearly the franchise that has more money to be made with.  They are pumping out a lot of games for the Haloverse now which clearly is very profitable.  GT 5 isn't out yet and only god knows when it will be out.  How long do you think it will take them to bring out GT6? 2015-2018?  I'll stick with Halo making more money in this period of time, thank you.

Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus have out sold God of War, Team ICO, Uncharted and Resistance series' combined.

Now can we never make a thread like this again?

we should really count sales for video games not some exercise boards

Ok... Mario Kart Wii and New Super Mario Bros. have outsold Uncharted, God of War, Motorstorm, Team ICO and Resistance series combined.

and Pinball and Minesweeper outsold MK and NSMB...

What's your point?

dont bring up other games in this disucssion, we're talking about Halo and Gran Turismo only...
