Well....Ok. If its better than Galaxy 1, my 3rd best game of all time, it will probably become my 3rd best with OoT my 2nd and hopefully Zelda Wii my 1st. If Zelda wii is as good a Zelda title as this is a Mario title, it should dethrone OoT for me. I guess all the copy and paste is an attempt (received differently by different people) to stay true-to-classic-mario but I believe every game that had a similar score wasn't perfect, but was ground breaking. And if u really think it might be GOTY, & its better than Galaxy 1, it should at least score the same as the 1st, if not higher.

But thanks for warning me about the things that'll disappoint me.

1. I'm indifferent about the mail toad. I really don't care at all so it doesn't spoil or make anything for me.

2. I don't like the nsmb style map

3. Please tell me the music is at least as good as Galaxy 1. What do u mean its not?!?

4. I hope the copy & paste isn't as bad as you make it sound

5. The dialog is a joke to show how bowser ALWAYS tries 2 learn from his mistakes. And if someone never played Galaxy 1, he literally might not notice any one, not even one, of your complaints!

You know, it just occured 2 me dat the missions & cutscenes in GTA IV & MGS4 (the last to games to get perfect 10s from ign) had a lot of copy and paste! Especially MGS4.

The music in Galaxy 2 is, in my humble opinion, every bit as good as the music in Galaxy 1. I think people were just taken by surprise with the music in the first game, and thus the impact of the music in the second game was lessened, if that makes any sense (and seeing as I just got out of a fairly long meeting, it may not.)

As for the cut and paste, a few people are making a big deal over nothing. Some of the same sounds, music, fonts and general assets were reused (as is par for course in ALL games), but the levels, and boss fights are completely new animals in this game, and that is really what matters in the end, is it not?

And personally I like the old school map system in the game, it works out really well, although I can totally see how it could bother other people. I think it boils down to whether Super Mario 3/World is your favorite Mario game or Super Mario 64 (which in its self is like asking if you would like a massage from the Brazilian super model or the Peruvian).

I only played the very 1st Mario then Mario 64 (both just a little bit) so Galaxy 1 is both the only one I've beaten and the only one I've gotten pat halway ( I was almost halfway in NSMB DS when I lost my DS). So my preferring the Galaxy 1 world map is probably cuz dats d map I learnt 2 love thru extended play time. And what u said about the music makes sense 2 me!

The Wii may not have the strongest library as a market leader, but that's largely the fault of the third parties, who are litterally doing EVERYTHING in their power to cut off the Wii's life and bring everyone over to the HD consoles. Despite this, gamers are still voting with their wallets that they prefer the Wii. If Xbox 360 and PS3 only had 90% first party games to rely on, their libraries would be much worse than Wii.

Even WITH the collective third party ignoring of the Wii, it still has the best library IMO, or at least best exclusives.

and sony and microsoft are far behind nintendo as developer

companies like blizzard and capcom could make a console and have better exclusives

Having now played through this game and got all the green stars etc. etc.. i have to say this game is epic nothing touches it with playability and just inifinite touches of genius

Hehe...not only did they cut and paste from galaxy 1 but they also lifted an entire level from Mario 64 and thought we'd be too stoopid to notice!!!! Lazy nintendo hacks!!!!!!

People like the same thing over and over again. People hate change.

A lot less people like change. If you're a developer that wants to cater to the mass audience are you going to make a game that a small group will like or that the mass will like?

It is amazing to me how some people will rationalize the less-than-perfect elements of some games while obsess about similar issues in other games.

For example, GTA IV had pop-up graphics issues. Those who said the game was GOAT excused them. Those who did not feel that way pointed to it as a problem.

The same thing is happening here.
