Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The recent surplus of quality Wii Titles make me happy.

Yeah, it's great but at the same time, good to great games aren't getting my dollars because I simply don't have time to play them and there's no point in buying them until I do (unless it'll be a hard to find game later like Sakura Wars)

I've skipped FF:CC:CB, RS2, Fragile, NMH2, PoP, Trauma Team and probably going to skip SMG2, 'cause I haven't even started MH3 yet.

Sakura Wars is the damnest thing ever.  The writing is campy as hell, the characters at times outrageous, the story is ludicris, the mini-games way simplistic, the pacing slower than molasses on a cold winter's day, my son calls it a book for good reason, 80% of the game is pressing A to advance the dialogue and occasionally picking a comment to make.   I can't justify the 9's IGN and other sites gave it but now I understand why. ...

The game is addictive!  It plays on your simple desires to be liked and think you can score with any woman you choose.  The characters, while cliche have depth and you really have to think about what to say to who at times and have very little time to do so.  The story, while drivel is also entertaining in a very Japanese kind of way. While simplistic the mini-games are tightly timed and you really have to be quick and diligent to do it perfect (and really impress the girl) although good enough is good enough to get a positive reaction.   And the SRPG elements are solid and fun and ever evolving.

It's addicting enough to keep me from finishing Endless Ocean (my favorite) and really getting into MH3.

If I was to review it I'd give it a 9 too.   Not because it technically deserves one, it's a budget Japan-only (or so it thought...) title, but because I want to play Sakura Wars 1-4 now and they only way that'll happen is if everyone else buys this one.  So go buy it already!!!

As a University student, I've only been able to afford Sin and Punishment and Monster Hunter, while putting a cache aside for Galaxy 2.

I've had to set No More Heroes 2, Red Steel 2, Endless Ocean Blue World, and Tatsunoko vs Capcom aside for later.

Still, that's my fault for being poor! ;)
The Wii is doing gamers proud in 2010 so far.

If those are Wii's quality games, PS3 & Xbox have nothing to worry about.

Aye, the challenge is just getting people to recognize it and fix the wii's bad image from before.

The bad image is from people that a) had already written off Nintendo and are angry they didn't go third party like they were supposed to, and b) cannot grasp why games they don't like sell on the Wii, but game they do like don't seem to sell (and they ignore those that do).

The mainstream likes the Wii.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

i'm very picky with what i buy so i havent bought a wii game since NSMBW in late November last year. Super Mario Galaxy 2 will be my first wii purchase of the year.

So i have no money trouble or a backlog at all. but grats to everyone who finds joy in what has been released for the wii sofar this year
