I honestly think that maybe it has to do with the fact the IP is 23 years old and seems to have been beaten to death. Although I have to agree that a non westernized ff might help, but it seems that square enix really has been riding ohhh its a final fantasy game thing for way too long.

EE is trying yo appeal to NA more than anything, they are ok with losing the jp market as long as they get a bigger market in NA , is like nintendo and core gamers

but more than all i think FF13 is an insult to us all, remenber that talk david caradain had in kill bill where he said that if superman's impersonation of a human is clark ken then superman must think humans are weak and stupid, well if FF 13 is made for the western market and all path are straight lines but they still put a yellow mark at the end so you dont get "lost", and AI choose attacks and spells for you , the story is superficial , and character have to repeat what stereotype they belong to in every cut scene, then what all that means is that EE thinks western gamers are all stupid kids that need a lot of aid to be able to beat an RPG, am i right?

Make it a 2D platform with local multiplayer and put it on Wii
