Forums - PC Discussion - Windows 7 officially hits 100 million licenses

http://www.engadget.com/2010/04/27/windows-7-hits-100-million-licenses-mark-becomes-microsofts-fa/

"It's hardly been a secret that Windows 7 was on track to become Microsoft's fastest-selling operating system, but the company has just now finally made that designation official, and also revealed that the OS has crossed the magical 100 million licenses sold mark in the process. In other words, that translates to Windows 7 being installed on one in ten of the world's PCs just six months after it launched, which is pretty darn impressive any way you slice it -- or punch it, as the case may be."

Impressive, good thing I was able to get in on the pre-order student offer for Windows 7. Now I just need some money to upgrade or build a new tower and I can start using Windows 7 Professional more.

That's....ALOT of money 0_o

very impressive..

got windows 7....love it!

You can't game on Windows XP without being reminded of how obsolete it is by every single piece of recent (gaming) software you try to install on it.

I'm sure that sold a few copies of Windows 7.

Well the OS isn't a lemon. Thats why its selling well.

I love windows 7 and I have one license on two machines, so id say its more like 25% of the pc's have it....only 10 have unique licenses lol

Well deserved. Best OS to date.

At some point, something must have come from nothing...

...nothing can come from nothing...

W7 is going to replace XP. Many people that I know that didn't even touched Vista are now going to 7.

Well if you take in account that every big corporation including goverments instantly buy multilicences for newest Windows it's not that impressive.

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising
