Careful with making absolutes like that. Smartasses like me will always poke holes in it by finding exceptions to the rule. <3

Well played sir.
I didnt mean to state it as a fact, but it seems to be a growing trend among Nintendo fans. Not all, but some. I might be reading too much into it, but I see a fair amount of "graphics bashing" this gen as if devs shouldnt want to make good looking games. Just because a game achieves a high level of visuals, it doesnt mean its automatically shallow or generic. But its like some Wii fans refuse to admit that there are fun and original experiences on the competing consoles. Just not as many due to devs following what seems to work. I believe if Nintendo's games were as easy to mimic as the high selling HD games seem to be, the Wii would have the same stigma. Luckily for Nintendo, their games cant be duplicated. Many have tried, none have succeeded.

Sorry for 3 posts in a row but this has turned out to be a very good thread.
I think Wii fans, like myself, maybe starting to get defensive. Think about it from out perspective. All we hear, reapeatedly, is oh the Wii grafix r teh suxxor and HD pwns u face. And shit like that. Of course people like graphics but us Wii owners are starting to get really pissed off at the fucking elite pos interwebz trolls.
Hey maybe thats our fault. Trolls should be ignored afterall. But its getting old hearing every 12 year old halo Live kid talk shit about the games I love. Like im some kind of retard for playing graphicly inferior games. Look up some IGN articles for some expamples. No wait don't, they don't deserve the hits. But i digress.
Point is I really do think the Wii fans saying graphics don't matter flat out like that is a defensive thing. Of course we all like graphics. But for us Wii fans they are not the end all be all of gaming. Far from it.

Thank you, this is how it should be. This gen had made a lot of us gamers really aggravated for no real reason. We have always defended the games and systems we liked before, but not this viciously. In the past, I repped SNES to the death. But I never trash talked Sega, I just talked up Nintendo. Same for Sony when the PS family arrived. But it seems its no longer enough to just explain why you like what you like. People also have to explain why you shouldnt like what you like. And that annoys me.
Blanket statements like "Only kids and old people play Wii" or "no HD games are original" are based on pure ignorance. I think the guy in the OP was basically just saying he loves graphics and wishes Ninty valued them as much as MS and Sony. He isnt the only gamer who feels that way, and they shouldnt be bashed for their feelings. On the flipside, gamers who dont value graphics all that highly shouldnt be bashed either.
I am a gamer. Not a fanboy, not a troll, a gamer. So when you dont like what I have to say, remember this fact.
