5 Reasons why this generation Blows! Agree or disagree?

Yep, it blows! Wii + HD = Wack! 33 9.17%

Errr.....no. It's my fave! 137 38.06%

16-Bit Era all the way! 74 20.56%

32-Bit Era all the way! 66 18.33%

8-Bit Era all the way! 12 3.33%

PC Gamers Unite! 37 10.28%

Total:359

Every generation brings something new to us gamers, and i love all of them, But if i had to put them in order, i'd put 16 bit era on #1 because i grew up in it and enjoyed most super nintendo games with my buddies, 32 bit would be second and 8 bit would be 3rd because it got me into gamming when i was just a little kid.

But.... but you don't.

People still mad that FPS are king? Wow.... I never remember FPS fans bitching when RPG's were king back in the PS1/PS2 days.

The HD obsession thing is bullshit, if the devs wanted shitty 8 bit graphics then they would make it like that, just like megaman 9-10 and what does this have to do with YOU buying the game?

and number 1 has always been happening, no matter what generation.

The lack of proper Suikoden and Valkyrie Profile games this gen says it all. It really sux

16-bit generation FTW!!!

Well, this generation is one of the best so far for me, with 16 and 32-Bits era. It has a great amount of games, a great variety.

However, there are also saturation in the FPS genre.

What this generation lacks is innovation. I agree it is more difficult nowadays to create a game that revolutionnizes a genre. Galaxy might be one of those rare titles.

Also, HD obsession make me sick. DLC too. Short games. Movie-like games (Heavy Rain, God of War III)

A game is different from a movie. Some developers might have forgot it.

Name me one game of this generation that sets the standards of its genre liek Ocarina of Time, Mario World or Metroid Prime, SotC did.

Here's why I think this console generation blows:

1) Online gaming has become too popular. As a result, there aren't enough quality single player games.
2) Motion control. The more popular it becomes, the less "hardcore" gaming becomes.

None of those are good reasons.

It just sounds like another opinionated internet fanboy. If you're reading the posts before reading the article itself, I recommend not wasting your time.

The only one I'd even give some attention to is "Oversaturation of FPS". Other than that, the rest of those are just hit-seekers.

Every generation has a genre that explodes with popularity, and each genre still has plenty to offer this gen. It's not a big deal.

I don't agree with you. YES, online gaming is too popular and a game MUST have online to respect the trend... which is dumb.

I disagree with you because the Wii has many single and multiplayers experience to offer offline. I can name you a lot of them.

2) No. Motion controls can be used in a own way to make a "hardcore game" more attractive. Zelda Wii, for sure, is going to be a hardcore game with motion controls. New Super Mario Bros Wii and Super Mario Galaxy uses motion controls brightly. Red Steel 2.

Let's see for Natal and Move.
