I've really only liked the first VP.. the other ones were kinda crap. I really dislike the DS one too.

Or maybe SE likes money hatting too much and they don't care about it fans nowadays! |
Huff! Fine!
I hope they do this, square doesn't have enough bullets lodged in its foot yet
Time for hype

Square: hm, but the 360 doesn't sell the types of games we make... Square thinks for a minute.... : sales = money.. so we want sales.. but if they want to pay us for the money we would make anyway for sales.... Square: how much money is that again exactly? think about it. sure they want to sell their game. but they only want to sell it to make money. if someone were to pay them the money they were going to make anyway from sales, why not? it's a hell of a lot better too coz the money is going to be there before development, so essentially square has nothing to lose. |
I remember reading somewhere that Namco used MS' money to cut down the development costs for the PS3 version of a game since developing on the 360 was cheap and easy, so taking the timed exclusive route doesn't seem like a bad idea.

The problem with that is it destroys the public awareness of the series if no one is playing it. So MS money may be good for square in the short term but in the long term square is really screwing itself, besides MS won't always be around to hand squarenix money.

And then when the game goes multiplat, nobody on ps3 buys it because it's already old.
Ehm... Nobody knows Breath of fire is Capcom and not SQEX, right?
It really doesn't matter who SE teams up with whether its MS, Sony, or Nintendo the game in the end will be average or below average just like most of games they put already. SE is absolutely irrelevant this gen and any partnership doesn't change that.

everything called JRPG says otherwise, even tales of vesperia , that released later sold more :p just because of japan. |
Fixed. And obviously given the difference in install bases in Japan that is a given.
