Call of Duty 7 To Be Revealed Next Month

The Official UK Playstation Magazine has informed its readers of their exclusive ‘Call of Duty’ reveal in next months issue. The page design also seems to give away a few clues in itself showing a 60s hand grenade and M*A*S*H style text to suggest the Treyarch developed game is based on war around that time period.

Call of Duty 7 is already rumoured to be called ‘Black Ops’, where players will fight various historical conflicts that took place between WWII and the present day, but neither Activision or Treyarch have released any announcements to confirm this. The rumours could be confirmed via a website teaser if this is believed to be linked to Call of Duty.

Clips on the recently published GKNOVA6 website show the following events:

  • A radioactive nucleus emitting radiation, which then splits other radioactive nuclei until it explodes.
  • A video of a baseball stadium which appears to get blown up with nuclear clouds hovering above the field.
  • The workings of the Atom bomb.
  • A diagram of radioactive material Uranium 238 being converted to Uranium 235
  • A plan of attack showing diagrams of battleships and infantry soldiers.
  • John F Kennedy announcing the 500-mile Naval Blockade of Cuba.

All of the details if linked to Call of Duty confirm the game does take on events during the Cold War, since most of the clips look like 50s and 60s American Propaganda. The final clip of JFK also hints that the Cuban Missile Crisis, a confrontation between the United States, the Soviet Union, and Cuba in October 1962 during the Cold War would also feature.

The GKNOVA6 website was created by MarkMonitor Brand Protection, who have had dealings with Activision Blizzard (Call of Duty Publishers) in the past.

More information will come to light when the Official UK Playstation Magazine is out on May 17th. In the meantime, why not share your thoughts in the comments section below?

Who cares anymore? The only way Im buying this game, if the Russians will be the good guys for a change Doubt that. Hell Im ready to bet that it will be cliche, Tom Clancy-like, Cold War, american super soldier story. At least the WW2 CoD wherent that biased towards the US

Vote the Mayor for Mayor!

After the massive letdown that was MW 2 and the atrocious WaW in the series, I find myself not caring any more. CoD is one of those series that explode on the scene and get drawn out into oblivion and ruined.
There are other wars and certainly other factions, to make games off of, portraying the world as if the US and UK are the only countries in history with a standing army is getting extremely old to me.

What wars would you suggest that they look at from the last 70 years (before that and you have rubbish guns, so the game is not fun)?

The US and UK have been very important in the last century, I don't see what other factions to play as beyond Russia. Maybe the Koreans or South Vietnamese?

There are plenty of conflicts, the main problem is political and sociological implications of depicting them or indeed simply switching sides or altering outcomes in a purely fictional fashion.

The world has a very black and white view of things and this forces developers to follow the same recipes. If I were to give one idea it'd have to be playing as partisans/saboteurs or some form of behind the lines elite troop that weren't either from the UK or US in WWII. The largest battles were mostly on the Eastern front where neither the UK nor the US were involved much at all and there was a collective Europe fighting however they could to stem the red tide of fascism. How about a purely fictional game where Hitler actually succeeded and one fights on a fascist ruled European continent against a seated, established nazi regime in total control (think the Combine in HL series)?

There are other ways of doing things, but like they say; where there's a will there's a way. There is no will, it appears, as long as money rolls in, developers like these have no reason to challenge themselves creativity wise at all. Which is why the CoD series is growing stale imo.

One thing is for sure; if I see one more game that starts with either going ashore or dropping above Normandy, I'll go nuts.

i just want them to change up the multiplayer, its been the same with few changes for the past 3 games...story mode im not too picky about that.

Screw the actual CoD game and give us info on the zombie mode!

I'm probably alone on this but I'm actually excited for the next CoD game from Treyarch. I loved World at War, because I love history, and apparently IW has the Modern Warfare side of CoD and Treyarch has the history side to work with. So, I can't wait to learn more about the next CoD game!!

only getting it to play zombies

Screw that give it a rest, stop milking the series just wait till next year for Cod.
