Yes. The way they focus their resources indicates that that's clearly not the goal, though.

It may take some time, buy Sony has a lot of great First party Developers that they also own, I think Killzone and Uncharted are on there way, maybe even MGS, I would say maybe GOW, but GOW3 looks to be the final game, Its hard on a newer console, most of these games with sales like these were from PS1 days, and its continues to do well and sale, So it may take some time but yes I think so.

I bet some of Sony's big franchises could see that size if they have a lot of good marketing behind them. Uncharted 2 could probably have reached at least 6 million if there was a lot of marketing behind it.

the only problem with Sony is that they create too many games to be able to dedicate enough marketing behind one to get it that big.

Other non Nintendo franchises as big as GT - Halo, GTA, COD, Madden, Fifa. Even Guitar Hero is not anymore, and Madden and Fifa might not be as big.

Uncharted franchise is the closest thing to it right now

Gran Turismo is as big as it is becaused it gets talked about more than any other game from Sony.

It's also marketed as a major title. Plus it's always at the forefront. It's everywhere.
