Alan wake vs Gears of war 2

I think lighting goes to alan wake, but overall what you see on screen, especially how the on screen visuals move around it has to be gears of war 2, although we have to wait till full retail alan wake is out to judge which looks best.

gears of war 2 produces its grafix with fluidity and fast visuals, where alan wake is quite a slow paced visuals. thats the opinion i get when watching both videos side by side, gears video starts from 1:40 before that its cutscene

compare yourself whats your opinion?

Im gonna say alan wake. Gears 2 looks way too cartoony for my taste so for art direction alone AW wins not to mention having a far superior color pallete

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

Not even close. I have finished Gears 2 3 times. Just watching Alan Wake on the net has me in a frenzy. And then theres the Previews that people have had.

Here:

"To be clear, none of the existing Xbox 360 games even compares to it, and even on PS3, which have more real exclusive titles, it's hard to find an equivalent. Killzone 2, Uncharted 2, Crysis, these are the few games which can compete with it. Whether it's the real-time projected shadows produced by the essential flashlight (those were obviously missing in Condemned 1 & 2), the total absence of aliasing (720p 4x FSAA), the breathtaking realistic lighting effects, the huge size of certain levels, SSAO, the atmospheric effects, the humongous size of some moving objects, the vegetation which interacts with characters and wind, or the largely satisfying framerate (with a light tearing that should disappear in the retail version) and many other physical and graphical effects, Alan Wake never ceases to amaze you with relative ease."

The fog looked realistic in Alan Wake and not just an graphics effect. I like the interaction with the plants as he's running through the forest but it's too dark to see any other effects.

I would say when its all over Alan Wake but Gears of War 2 is an older game.

Who knows, I will wait til alan wake comes out before I know, you can not trust these little doctored gameplay movies. I don't think I will buy alan wake buy maybe they will have a demo to check it out, something about the main weapon being a flashlight does not spark my interest. But maybe I will be wrong and it will be a great game, only time will tell.

I'll wait till the game releases.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

skee why do you keep trying to downplay alan wake...?

It's the console wars m8.

360 Fans in defensive mode yet again.. I don't see the need for that in this thread? He praised Alan Wake for it's best element, it's lightning effects. Sure, he could've picked a better looking game then GeOW2 to compare with, but who cares..

......Holy....
I've never seen that Alan Wake footage before now.
It's amazing how they actually managed to make that....Scary. Not the cheap kind of monster jumps out of a closet scary either.

So yeah; Alan Wake.
