Games are way too short now
End of 2012 prediction:
xbox 360 : 73-75 million playstation 3 : 72-74 million wii : 104-105 million
Most hyped for :
Bioshock: infinte, The Last Of Us, Alan Wake's American Nightmare and Agent
1)Microsoft taking the once sony exclusive games causing the ps3 and 360 to be nearly identical except for first party games...i miss the ps2, GC, xbox days when each system had a wide variety of exclusives to choose from. now its just the first party titles for the most part.(and I understand its financial but I still don't like it)
2)$60 price point for games - its fine for AAA titles but make the shitty games more affordable.
3)expensive DLC. it's all a scam anyway
DLC
DRM
DD praise.
Developers attitude towards PC
Blizzard not leaving Activision to die.
The constant smear campaigns against Nintendo (Analysts etc)
Games relying less on gamplay and more on story/visuals
Games losing their soul
Game developers wanting the used games market gone.
Third parties thinking they are gods (this was a problem in the two previous gens as well)
Sonic 4 embracing business practices that I hate (DD, episodic content) Will still get it though because it's supposed to be a true Sonic game.
Nintendo not giving me an epic fantasy action game with 1:1 motion controls.
Lucasarts not announcing a 1:1 lightsaber game.
Motion controls being this far into the gen and still not fulfilling its true potential
JRPGs taking the wrong direction.
The good MMO games requiring monthly fees.
The epic wall/citadel mechanic gone in Battle for Middle Earth 2.
Less RTS games being made.
No (good) dinosaur games.
Me having less time for games.
There's a lot of things I hate about this gen.
I LOVE ICELAND!
The wii and wii fit. (i better not get banned, i mean it is a choice and all)
I just feel that while the wii has a lot of really good games like NSMBW, brawl, zelda, metriod, and some other little casual fun games, it doesn't deserve all the recognition that its getting. People just buy games on it because they look good, even if it's terrible, like just dance (according to reviews, its a horrible game)
And on top of that, Nintendo hates hardcore gamers and only makes games for the under 16 and over 60 crowd.
For as much as I agree that the Wii has not been my cup of tea. Too much gimmick and not enough good gaming. I still see that it has revitalized a broader market in video games.
I haven't heard this many people talking about video games since Atari was big. People having video game parties at their house, majority of women enjoying the games, and adults and kids having fun together with the games.
Motion controls. Now I'm insulting all companies when I say this, not just the Wii, but motion controls are definitely a fad that will only last maybe to the next generation before their novelty wears off and people stop being impressed by how when you wave the controller it shows up on screen.
Now I know what you're thinking, my definition of fad must be wrong because the Wii obviously wasn't just a fad. Well the definition of fad is "a temporary fashion, notion, manner of conduct, etc., esp. one followed enthusiastically by a group." It gives absolutely no time frame for what counts as a fad. So even if it lasts a full generation or two of video game consoles I still think it'll be considered a fad in the end.
Fanboys of any kind.
Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!
Kojima: Come out with Project S already!
Im tired of graphic whores, Sure graphics are a major plus but when a game doesnt have a specific amount of pixels, it is considered crap by some
thats when this gets really rediculous......When will you guys realize that this kind of mentality is only hurting the gaming Industry!!!
I put fanboys of any kind.
I wrote a thread about this recently as was mocked by guess who?
Fanboys of all kinds.
