unbelievable, a tragic story indeed. At that age anything is a toy for them, i cant believe the father would leave a loaded gun like that...

How stupid do you have to be to leave a gun in reach of a 3 year old... wow...
"No charges have been filed in the case.
We advise parents concerned about their child's safety regarding Wii hardware to consult Nintendo's Wii safety page."
Reading these 2 lines was a serious "what the fuck?" moment for me...

Sad.. lousy parenting as usual to blame though...
Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

It could have been prescription medicine, a pocket knife, a pit-bull, or a small toy (choke hazard). Having a child means taking some responsibility. My kid is eight and the electrical outlets STILL have safety covers on them. Leaving a fucking GUN out?
Insanity.
And I own a few guns.
For one thing you don't leave no gun out when you have a 3 year old. I think kids that age shouldn't be even playing the Wii. They should be playing with teddy bears and coloring books. God has her now.

With all the meth heads around in rural places having a gun is a must... it's sad that he didn't keep the safety on... I wonder if they've had problems befor

This comment, along with this pic, just looks so weird :P |
So it seems like Irony wins another round. PS: Instant win on the Graces photos.
Anyway, on topic:
It's a sad fate for the kid, and I feel bad that it had to turn out that way. But a loaded gun? On a table? Which he left there by putting it down and then taking a nap? And the mother wasn't with the kid at all or obviously not watching? Negligence at least. My mother watched my sister like a hawk for the longest time. You never know what they can get into at that age.
But even as someone who doesn't and doesn't need to own a gun, it seems like banning them altogether isn't the way to go. Considering a gun is just a tool for murder, doesn't mean that there's not other ways to get results. Stricter? Deffinitely. Removal? Probably wouldn't work out as well as people think.
But if a news company think that pinning this on a gaming console is the way to go, there's an serious issue.
