Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Developer: DVD is a problem, Blu Ray is better

What i mean? Okay, my english is not so good, but i hope - your are understand me, guys.

Final Fantasy 13 on PS3 better and it have 1 Blu Ray! 360 = 3 DVD's

Star Ocean on PS3 has special features and the japan synchro - 1 Blu Ray! On 360 more. Forza to.

And Lost Planet 2 was cuttet. This say capcom in the last week. And Uncharted 2/Metal Gear Solid 4 is not possible on Xbox.

What is your opinion, is the DVD a problem for the games developer? I think: Yes =(

it is not so good. I mean..i have a PlayStation 3 with Blu Ray =) But it is sad for only 360 gamer, i think =( this is sad. Blu Ray is the future, Microsoft. Do it, MS.

the best RPG's are coming 2013 !!!! oh my god, this is perfect for RPG-GAMER = ) Ni No Kuni - 25 january, Time and Eternity, tales of xillia (PS3) and the maybe best game ever: metal gear solid ground zero

I am not sure wether I should pray for you or laugh.. and im not religious..

Currently playing: MAG, Heavy Rain, Infamous

Getting Plat trophies for: Heavy Rain, Infamous, RE5,  Burnout and GOW collection once I get it.

as a 360 owner I dont have any problems with it. I still have plenty of great games to play and enjoy. And I personally dont believe bluray will ever have the effect that dvd or cd had. There are too many competing options for movies and games for it to be a must have for people like dvd was. I personaly will probably never have a bluray device unless its a ps3 which I would buy for their exclusive games and nothing else. While I do agree it would be nice to have more disc space to not have to disc swap, it isn't a big deal to me.

I agree when it comes to games needing the disk being put back in to previous areas. That really drives me nuts and that is when I basically gave up on Star Ocean 4 after I finished. I will probably replay the PS3 version and do everything.

Somewhat. Not extremely drastic, but it still is a problem.

is not a problem for me
i enjoy PS3 games as i enjoy 360 games as I enjoy Wii games
all 3 systems have kick ass games
just look how amazingly great it work for Mass Effect 2 and Forza 3 (each game is in 2 DVD's)

make 2 DVDs like Mass Effect 2 --> problem solved.

I really think this generation is in between DVD and BluRay. I mean there are tons of games that require a install on the PS3, because of BluRay. Look at Bioshock 2. 4-5 GB install, because BluRay is too slow.

So it is not like BluRay, the way it is integrated in the PS3 now, is the best thing ever. Both formats have their pros and cons this gen.

Let's see what the future will bring up.

Imagine not having GamePass on your console...

i have 360 and bluray is better. ive just had to have 2 of my 360 games cleaned because of scratches on dvd.

this problem not happen on bluray.

i dont like swapping discs thats old.

...not much time to post anymore, used to be awesome on here really good fond memories from VGchartz...

PSN: Skeeuk - XBL: SkeeUK - PC: Skeeuk

really miss the VGCHARTZ of 2008 - 2013...

Swapping between 2 DVD's not an issue.

Swapping between 3 is a minor but not insurmountable issue.

Swapping more than 4 DVD's I am not willing to do.

Those MGS4 act installs say otherwise :P.

(Sorry MGS4. I still love you :))
