Forums - Sony Discussion - How is Xbox still on top

What some people might also not know is that Sony is still in decline. If you compare NPD's numbers from last year to this year's the PS3 is doing better but it doesn't make up for the drop in PSP sales and especially the massive drop in PS2 sales. We're probably going to have another story at the end of the year talking about Sony's declining revenue.

because it is a sensational gaming solution.... at a great price.

@rafichamp

That explanantion is the most illogical thing I have ever heard. They are holding back stock of consoles already built until they break even on manufacturing.....???? these consoles that, in your weird scenario, are being held back are....... already built!?!?

Sony is holding back stock, dont worry once they break even on PS3 they will re-stock like crazy, which should be around end of March.

There are a few things wrong here:

A. Amazon positions don't even tell a fraction of the story.

B. The 360 is still $100 cheaper than the PS3, making for quite an attractive package despite the value of the PS3 @ $300.

C. Why is this in the Sony Forum?

yep... and not forgetting...

D.  Some people just prefer the 360.

I keep asking myself the same thing. It's strange that so many Americans still choose the Xbox.

First X10, then the nice NPD surprise. This day was a good day to be an Xbox fan.

Why is it strangeo many americans buy an xbox, my question is why so few japense buy it.  It has a solid game lineup, great pricing and the best online why not buy it.  The biggest factor is all my firends have xbox's.

PS3, WII and 360 all great systems depends on what type of console player you are.

Currently playing Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, Fallout 3, Halo ODST and Dragon Age Origins is next game

There's a principle that microsoft only gives the number units "shipped" to "retailers" vs sony giving the number of units "sold" to "customers". A bit of stretching the truth basically.

Amazon doesn't count for nothing, just another more.....

both are shipped to retailers.  and you should know that it isnt wise to debate about shipped v sold.

Doesn't matter though as the PS3 is outselling the 360 worldwide.

and will continue to outsell this entire year. Hope the releases of AAA exclusives can break the lead.

Yeah, you're right. But I mean right now the PS3 has a lot of value. $300 including Blue Ray, free online, great exclusives, and you're a lot more cool among the other kids if you have a Playstation than Xbox etc.
