I said it was obvious that we simply disagree on this issue but yet here you are again posting the definition of rip off in an attempt to insult my intelligence. I don't agree with you on this. I think it's rip off, I think the $20 is too much for an incomplete version of game. You might want to look at the definition you keep posting. It's clear that you don't comprehend what you've been pasting in your own posts. So let me underline it for you. I think MS is charging too much for what they are delivering. You don't.  Posting a dissenting opinion isn't pissing and moaning BTW. KI may become a complete product. The problem with episodic content is that there is no guarantee that the product will be completed.

Hey, I'm just showing you what the word means so you use it correctly in the future. If that's insulting then maybe you're a little sensitive. Once again, you use the word rip off incorrectly. I give up! Words have no meaning anymore I guess.

Charging too much is subjective and KI is clearly much higher quality than the typical game that releases for $20. If KI can provide several or many hours of entertainment then its arguably worth $20.

Your opinion is... MS is ripping people off. The reality is nobody is being ripped off because MS is being honest about what the product will offer for $20. Hence, your opinon is actually incorrect simply based on the definition of rip off. However, if MS doesn't deliver what was promised for $20, it's indeed a rip off.

It doesn't matter if the new KI is completed. They're selling 8 characters for $20. Take it or leave it. When season 2 rolls out, it'll probably be another 8 characters for $20. This is a different strategy than we're accustomed to and I think there is potential for the game to be more successful going this route. Especially considering fighters don't sell as well as they once did.

a fraud or swindle, esp. something that is grossly overpriced.

MS is not commiting fraud or swindling you. They're being perfectly clear, 8 characters for $20. That's enough content to provide many hours of entertainment. Especially if you attempt to become skilled with each character, play competitively with others, etc.

Its not grossly over priced either. Hours of entertainment for a measly $20. Confirmed, its not a rip off.

Lastly, I think the way characters are being rolled out in seasons should lead you to believe time is being taken to make the game balanced. They aren't just rushing characters to have a large roster at launch.

I find charging someone money for an incomplete product to be a rip off. If the game had all 8 characters and modes at launch $20 would be reasonable. It doesn't. You get six characters with two characters and the single player content to released later. MS is rushing the game out to door so that it can be a launch title. It's an incomplete game. That sets a bad precedent. We can continue to go back and forth on this subject but it's obvious that we simply disagree.

I find you have no idea what rip off means. Let me refresh your memory...

MS is being honest and its not overpriced. So once again, its not a rip off.
It does not set a bad precedent, you're just being whiny. People didn't get angry over GT5 Prologue, fans just played it. I just bought the first episode of The Wolf Among Us and I am waiting for Telltale to complete it. KI will eventually be a complete product, so wait for that and stop the pissing and moaning.

@ kyliedog. You want killer instinct bad bro.

I do, which is why I don't want this sorry excuse for a Killer Instinct game that lacks nearly everything that made Killer Instinct great.

No, DOA is not doing the same, you can can buy DOA5 Ultimate on disc with all characters included, much more than Killer Instict, all modes of the game are included, unlike Killer Instinct, all characters are there day one, unlike Killer Instinct.  The F2P version is just DOA5 Ultimate chopped up.  Killer Instinct has no full version or even a complete game to buy.  You cannot stop posting bullshit can you.

Why is it BS.

DOA 5 will be the last version on disc. Just watch. F2P is where the industry is headed thanks in large part to Piracy on Android were developers say for every 1 game bought 10 are pirated. There is 10X the players on Football Manager online on Android than have bought the game in sales.

DOA5 is digitally doing exactly what Killer Instinct is. You can buy it in bits. Fighters will all be F2P games this new generation. Its cheaper as a dev/publish and has way more chance to entice new gamers to the genre or franchise as they can try it free.

Well i guess we´ll have to see on next year at EVO if it will attend. Thats will pretty much tell how popular it will be among the fighting genre.

@ kyliedog. You want killer instinct bad bro. Its quite funny.

there's no point in talking anymore. Doa is doing it exactly the same. Just watch street fighter release in bits. Then you will have street fighter ultra/ mega ultra/ super duper duper uper ultra all release as dlc upon dlc upon dlc. Exactly like killer instinct. This time next year killer instinct will probably have 16-20 characters and stages, modes galore etc.

only difference is it wont be called killer instinct super daper scrappy doo ultra, like another company does.

people downplay this new model of selling the game. Yet the new street fighter and mortal kombat are going to release like this as well. That's already confirmed.

Link or you're posting bullshit, again.

Ok so its not CONFIRMED per se. But yeah. It is confirmed. Dead Or Alive is doing it, Killer Instinct is doing it and Tekken is doing it. Also Ono said it costs alot to make a new Street Fighter. Releaseing like Killer Instinct allows the genre to stay alive and allows money to be recouped as they release in bits like Killer Instinct, Tekken Revolution and Dead Or Alive 5 Ultimate : Core Figters.

So yeah confirmed, unless anyone would like to cling to something thats not ever gonna stay as it is.

Then we agree to disagree. KI is bare bones by 1990s standards and it's 2013. The tiny roster just exacerbates the lack of content.

I feel like you're ignoring the $20 price tag.

We are all aware there is little content and the price tag makes up for it. Down the road, it will acquire significantly more content.

The $20 price tag doesn't keep the game from being an unfinished rip off. It's an unfinished beta test with $20 price tag.

@Kupomogli

I honestly wonder about the balance given the short development time.

its strange how previews are great for xbox games yet people here disregard them.

yet previews of other companies games are taken as gospel. Hell ign said a certain game is like crysis. Crysis on these forums gets smashed. Yet now its the best thing since sliced bread.

i hate to say it but there's a pattern emerging.

killer instinct looks great, has great previews and noone can ank for more than that.

Microsoft have put a heavy emphasis on more than just shooters which is what many people said they wanted from Microsoft. They do it, and those same people all of a sudden like shooters more.

ironic.
