Now that the new Nintendo system has been unveiled, I wonder if...or when...john lucas will grace us with his presence and explain why itīll sell a bazillion units.
4K Netflix is actually 15mbps + 3mbps HDR extension. It's comparable to 1080p blu-ray as h.265 is about twice as efficient as h.264, however that 15mbps includes sound on Netflix, on Blu-ray lossless sound can already take up 5.5 mbps. Blu-ray sustains up to 54 mbps all combined.
It's a big step up from 1080p netflix at h.264 5mbps including sound. Compating 4K blu-ray to Netflix (even their ultra quality at 10mbps) will blow everyone away. However a proper upscaled blu-ray is not that far off from a studio upscaled 4K UHD disc (made from a 2k master which most still are)
But indeed 4K Netflix at 15 mbps is 6 times as good as 1080p Netflix since it uses the more advanced HEVC encoding. It would be nice if they used that for 1080p too. (I though Netflix had 10mbps option for 1080p as well, maybe not anymore and that became the 4K tier)
I wish it had an option to downscale 4K Netflix to 1080p, that should look pretty close to blu-ray.
Luke Cage is filmed with Red Epic Dragon 6K cameras, so yep should look good down sampled to 4K.
So, I joined the 8th gen at long last, about six months before I planned to. ND made me do it!!!
Only problem is, I want it to be like Jak 1, not Jak 2 and 3 :-(
Season's greetings! I would like to personally invite you to join this year's PC Secret Santa event, thread link below. Please drop by and help us make this holiday season a bit more merry for everyone. Looking forward to seeing you there!
When did you move to Sweden?
So, how's it been in Sweden?
Sweden is nice, a bit too hot politically for my taste but Stockholm is fantastic. I've had a much easier time getting jobs, apartments and other things here than I ever did back in Norway.
I think it's pretty wild in Sweden nowdays. Interesting to see what happens, as all the other parties said they're not going to business with the Swerigedemocrats, and the bigger fuckheads others are, the more popular the party is getting.

Browsers may one up each other in speed, overhead, or streamlining, but when it comes to agency and versatility I've found no reason not to stick with Firefox. Except that it is a resource hog and Chrome is the best for anyone who uses a lot of Google services. Edit - also anyone with kids. FF and other...
Chrome isn't very good, that's what's going on. I've tried numerous browsers but still stick with Firefox. I think the Chrome horde must use their browser for other things than I do, because I find it quite worthless....

Go figure... :-P Anyways, it's interesting to see how much digital is eating into the market now, having gone fully digital on PC years ago, I still never considered it an option on the PS since their servers and online services are less than impressive. If it takes me...
