Just wanted to say thanks for linking that wiki to the Dev of BotW was actually laughing my ass off reading the portion on the physics of the game during development.

"Aonuma called the physics engine in Breath of the Wild a major development for the Zelda series, saying that it "underpins everything in the world" and makes things operate in a "logical and realistic way", allowing players to approach puzzles and problems in different ways. He expanded on the difficulty in developing this system, recalling how one day during development he entered an area in the game and found that all the objects had been blown away by the wind."

I'm just picturing his confused face trying to figure out why the items hadn't spawned, and then seeing the smile on his face as he watched a whole pile of apples being blown down a hill and into a river only to be taken out and eaten by a group of enemies who saw food. I'd imagine it was a mix of annoyance but still happiness that it worked so well... or realistic.

Jeez. It looks like you have a frustrating response to deal with. I'm slightly agitated by it, and I'm not even taking part in the conversation. I'm glad I'm not you.

So I had a question about Xenoblade Chronicles 2's new game plus mode and figured you'd be able to help - are Blades still bonded to particular drivers? Or can you swap Blades between characters at will?

One thing I'd love in that game is to have the freedom to utilise my Rare blades across characters and experiment with character classes more as a result.

The Blades are still bonded to characters - but you can recollect all of the Overdrive Protocols and even buy them in New Game Plus (they're a bit expensive). Unfortunately, this still makes for a bad experimental testbed.

Which 3D Mario best used Nintendo's hardware?

in Nintendo Discussion 2 hours ago

For the record, I was far more a fan of Galaxy than I was of Mario 64. I felt that Galaxy fulfilled on what 64 set out to do in the same way that Breath of the Wild fulfilled what Ocarina of Time set out to do. Galaxy, IMO, was the game that most effectively used the hardware provided. While Mario 64 was the best of the initial wave, there were quite a few games (like Banjo Kazooie, Lylat...
