Persona 5 isn't even the best Persona game, so yeah.

Persona 4 and 5 are legendary for me, like FF7 in the past ^^

Having less and less time to play games, the length of Persona games has kept me away. As for the Final Fantasy VII reimagin, I'm good with the original version.

Uh, well, I only recently played the original FF7 a few months ago. It's a great game for sure but I would take Persona 5 over that game but that's largely due to the fact that I didn't play FF7 when it came out back in 1997.

Also, I'm more excited about FF7 Remake by far. P5R is not that big of an upgrade from the original compared to FF7 to FF7 Remake.

To me, Final Fantasy 7 really is the greatest RPG ever made.  And no, it was not my first RPG, not by a long shot.  It was just an extremely well made game.  It blew me away when it first came out, and it's still extremely fun to play even though most games from Generation 5 are extremely dated.

Persona...well the only Personal game I ever played was Persona 4.  I played about 10 hours, but then I stopped because I kept falling asleep.  I really don't understand what people like in the Persona games, but it definitely is not for me.

Needless to say, the FF7 remake is far more important to me than Persona 5 Royal.

Generally one can say: Final Fantasy is much better known, worldwide. But Persona 5 and Persona 4 are better than any FF game for me :)

I'm way more excited about FF7R as a huge Atlus enthusiast, having just finished Catherine Full Body true Rin route.

Basically FF7R is remade more than 20 years later, with the same staff. They had decades to think about the game and the franchise, to wonder about what they didn't execute perfectly in the original.

As for Persona 5 Royal, a vast majority of Atlus's games are extremely impressive through their use of symbols and references, and what distinguish Persona, SMT and before Sega, other SMT spinoffs from other great JRPGs is extensive pre-production to nail the theme they choose to explore.

What happens with Persona re-releases is they get a good gameplay boost in a spin-off franchise that has simplified gameplay to allow anyone to enjoy it, but add story to an already complete, and well-thought narrative. The answer in P3 FES was a joke, and Persona 4 releasing so close to Persona 3 had a SoL focused plot with scooby-doo level thriller. I know there are things I will like in P5R, but I highly doubt there won't be any conflicts with the original themes and symbols.

I trust Square Enix thought a whole lot about the challenge they were facing when deciding to remake their biggest success, while I have zero trust in Sega after they dropped every other SMT spin-off to focus on Persona dancing games (none of which have better remix than the original somehow) and chibi dungeon crawlers that have insulting plots.

Both will be day one purchases, but mostly because I can't rely on reviews for P5R after P4 was praised so much.

Nostalgia is one hellva drug....

Q1 = I have to give it to ff7, because of the feels man.... Even though today Objectively P5 is a better game.
Q2 = I look forwards to FF7R... so yeah.

Prefer Persona 5, more excited for FF7 Remake.
