Interesting stuff. If switch manage to do 21-22 millions that would be huge. Knowing this year was big but they have multiple cards they can still play for coming years. Like classic switch didnt get a price cut yet and we can see that they don't have the same audience, which means the price cut could still be huge for sales even tho the lite is a thing.

I'm sincerelly curious to know what cards they have except the price cut for the next year, i can't remembrer any big game scheduled. BoTW 2 is not due before at least two years, no smash. Maybe a Mario? Or a remaster ?

I expect nothing, i just want to know what we can expect for next year, when i read many cards are in the pipeline. Egoistically, for me, who plays mainly on ps4 and on switch for the exclusives, if there's a lot of good exclusives it's nice, if there's only a few, it's better for time and money

Switch up nearly 3 million over 2018. Can it touch 20 million this fiscal year? I dont know. But I think 19 is almost certain. That's great, the little system is awesome.

Week 44 Numbers have just been posted. This week saw the launch of Luigi's Mansion 3 + the Pokemon Sword/Shield edition of the Switch Lite.

Furthermore, the Switch was adjusted up due to Nintendo's recent announcement of 10 million units sold in Japan as of November 3rd.
Thanks to these adjustments, I did more calculations and found that the Switch is currently on track to sell roughly 22,178,989 units in 2019.

At this point, I am not sure what Switch will sell this year, because I think they will be in short supply.  All of our calculations are based on figuring out demand.  What about supply?  How do we know how much Nintendo will manufacture?  We don't.

I say this, because Nintendo has stayed with their very conservative 18m for the current fiscal year.  Even without the wildcard Ring Fit Adventure they were going to sell more than that.  The last half of the year has been full of hit games plus a Lite model.  I can say that in North America what is happening is that there are a ton of kids out there that have been begging their moms for months for a Switch because of Mario Maker 2, Link's Awakening, Luigi's Mansion 3 and most of all Pokemon (not to mention Mario Kart, Smash Bros, BotW, etc...).  And all of these moms have had to say, "wait til Christmas" about a million times.  Now that they can buy their kid a $200 Switch that will shut them up they are definitely going to do it.

So I think Switch is going to be in short supply in Japan and NA these holidays.  Europe should be fine, but in the first two regions Switch is going to be the "must have" item this holiday.  Nintendo is being too conservative, and I think supplies will be too short.

They barely did any major bundles or collector (first real one imo is the pokemon Sw/Sh that got released in japan like last week), no price cut, they could still come up with a Switch pro or something. Like they supposedly don't even have deals for BF this year either. For games, Nintendo literally never announces games too early in advance. There is plenty of titles without a release date and we will have some announcements in the coming months (GA/Jan Direct). There is Animal crossing in march, which will be the biggest start of any year for the Switch since in the past it was usually pretty quite until June.

Insider said on Twitter that Botw is planned to release in 2020, but that Zelda games tend to get pushed back but still hints that the work on the game is further advanced than we thought. Other titles like Metroid, SMT5, NMH3, Bayonetta 3 still yet to have a release date. Imo next year is when we will start seeing more exclusives from third party devs.

Week 45 numbers have just been posted in this week marks the release of Death Stranding for the PS4.

Furthermore, a historic milestone has been reached as the PlayStation 4 has officially passed the Nintendo Wii in lifetime unit sales to consumers.
PS4: 101.9 million
Wii: 101.6 million.

Switch is now 3 millions over last year which if the holiday is flat, it would put it to almost 20 millions still. With the lite, no way it will be flat, so it will be doing over 20 millions.. that's crazy.

I'm very curious to see what Ring Fit Adventure will do this holiday season. It's already turning into a sleeper hit, but at this rate, it could become a killer app for the holidays, especially for parents and other adults who can't afford a gym
