It'd be interesting to know what happens next week at your Toys R Us - your comment about the last Wii shipment barely selling out on the first day.

Could this be the beginning of the supply vs demand normalization?

Hope you keep us updated next week!

It definitely shows the demand is dropping (however slowly).. but i'd say barely selling all the wiis in one day means it isn't even close to normalization.. maybe when that 'one day' changes to a week we can say that with a bit more assertiveness

When they sell out of their Wiis the moment the next shipment comes in is when demand has normalized.

Yeah, but do note that I said "the beginning". It's not like supply vs demand becomes a 1:1 ratio overnight.

In any case, we'll see when this happens eventually. It has to sometime!

Let it go, i have read the majority of your posts legend and why are you so synical towards people, we all have a right to an opinion...

I'm sorry.

(coming from a former TRU storeroom/salesfloor grinder hehe)

I know the manager of my local EB.. he had 6 PS3s, 17 360s, and 2 Wiis when i talked to him 2 days ago. Idk how they sold but thats what they had.

I worked today, and we got 33 Wiis. Today we sold:

20 Wiis

2 PSPs

3 DSs

Since my last shift on Thursday, we have sold (total):

20 Wiis

4 PSPs

10 DSs

These are very typical numbers. It's clear that, at least in our neck of the woods, Wiis are no longer selling out instantly upon arrival. However, they'll be sold out by the end of the day tomorrow, and this means we're still a long way away from normalization. Put simply: whether they sell out in 4 days or 4 minutes, Nintendo is still shipping the system to us as fast as possible, and demand still outstrips supply. Difficult to tell if supply will be normalized before the Christmas season begins.

I work again on Tuesday, another update then!

"Shouldn't this be in the Sales Forum?" let it go legend11...let it go

Yeah, seems to still be a ways off from normalization, but it does seem to be starting. In your case, I'd say another few months, but I don't think your shop will continue selling out by Christmas - I think it will spike during summer vacation, slump/normalize around September (going back to school?), then spike again for the Christmas shopping frenzy.

In any case, perhaps you should start doing your own chart tracking and post your numbers in an excel file or something - could be interesting.

What numbers do you have for the PS3 and 360? Anything at all?

Yes, I haven't sold any of either for over a week. Specifically, I recieved a shipment of both systems on February 4th. The PS3 shipment was 16 systems, the Xbox360 shipment 20 systems. I've sold all but 4 of my PS3s, and all but 2 of my Xbox360s. This means I've sold 12 PS3s (this is net, however, since I had some returned) and 18 Xbox360s. That's slightly less than 1 PS3 a week and 1.5 Xbox360s a week.

Thanks for the update. Appreciate it if you kept this going!

We all know the runaway success that the Wii is currently experiencing, but what is truly worrying is the PS3's dismal sales. Even the 360 outsells the PS3 at your retail outlet by a rough average of 50% (discounting returns of course).
