Do you really think the PS3 will sell 10 million per year till 2017? You know that there will be a Wii 2, Xbox 3 and a PS4 on the market years before?!

The allmighty PS2 was released holiday 2000. It is by far the most successful console ever.
The PS2 sold 12 million in the past two years. You expect the PS3 to outsell the PS2 by almost 100% in this point of its lifecycle?!

they have the wrong figures, that is what i was pointing out, just wait till tomorrow before going mad on sales numbers ok, we get the proper figures tomorrow, i hope.

going to find the link about shipped ps3 amounts to prove to you now ok. are that's right it was a forecast, so it could be wrong, anyways, we shall see

The ps3 will be a 4 year old console the coming November and will have sold not more than some 40 million consoles by then, if not less. Going by sales trend and taking into account such things as price reductions, big games etc. by the time the ps3 will be mass market price like Wii or below there will already be a new generation of consoles and the ps3 will have some 55-60 million consoles sold, well below what PS1 did.

And what idiocy is your claim that the PS takes its time? for sales? In the last 3 years the ps2 sold maybe 20 million units, most was sold during the first 4 years.

Going by sales trend and taking into account such things as price reductions, big games etc. by the time the ps3 will be mass market price like Wii or below there will already be a new generation of consoles and the ps3 will have some 55-60 million consoles sold, well below what PS1 did.

the ps3 will sell about 14m consoles this year it's my prediction, that takes it beyond 40, (around 44 ish i think lol), a new generation of consoles will not stop it from selling, just remember what happened when the gc and xbox released after the ps2, it did not slow down.

I don't think sony will bother with a new console until 2012, this gen has cost them too much already, and the ps3 is just starting to gain pace, more people want ps3 now, alot of people thought ps2 was doomed for it's first year, but it proved everyone wrong(that's what i mean by the ps brand takes it's time, sega was dominating at first lol), the difference here is ps3 was way more expensive, and has only just fallen to be an acceptable price, it has better years ahead of it than 2009.

the end of this year 2010 ps3 shall be #2 mark my words.

HA! I knew this will turn into a shit storm, weather ps3 does over take 360 or not it doesn't matter as the gap between these two wont be big enough for either console to lose 3rd party support, the 2nd or 3rd place is just fanboy ammo the way I see it.

that's ignore PR, when the console speaks for itself, the work 180,000 employees.

Looking at the mess that Toyota finds itself in right now, one can clearly see that not all engineering problems, ala RROD, were malicious, even if some disgruntled employee says so...and there hasn't been any fatalities from RRODs.  I'm not sure how arrogance fits into gettign a product to market...rushing...lol...funny.  Time will tell, but since the PS3...is nearly in the SAME position it was back in 2007, it's somewhat cocky to say we got this in the bag.


If its a choice between arrogants and complete contempt well...
