Forums - Sony - Heavy Rain: Great game ahead of it's time but it will fail commercially

I agree the public are not ready for it. I think they are ready for this type of interactive movie/game but not with this storyline and probably not at the 60 price range. If they could get people addicted to it like people get addicted to Lost and other TV shows then this genre could be the biggest genre around. It needs something to come along and grab the attention of the main stream though. I think this game is a little too mature for main stream. If they released short 1 or 2 hour games every month or so for $5 or for a subscription fee for a season then this type of game could sell like crazy.

Just like Wii Music.

What!  Wii Music was just a bit bland, only moderately fun and wasn't a great choice for the broader Wii demographic install base.  It sure wasn't ahead of its time, you Wii Tease.

Try to be reasonable... its easier than you think...

I too think it will "fail" which is sad but I will enjoy the game as it's a strong contender for my personal goty for 2010.

PS One/2/p/3slim/Vita owner. I survived the Apocalyps3/Collaps3 and all I got was this lousy signature.

Xbox One: What are you doing Dave?

Already have it payed for.

The Halo francise is the most overrated bland game to ever hit the console market. It provides a bad name to all FPS that even showed effort at creating an original entertaining plot.

I probably have more ps3 games than you :/

I don't think it will fail commercially, but it won't be a big success either. It'll do fine but nothing more.

It looks like more of an interactive movie than a game to me. Definitely not my bag baby..

Whereas that's the very reason I want it. Please don't take offence at this because I'm saying it for the sake of Heavy Rain, but there should be more people like me into gaming and fewer like you. That way Heavy Rain would be a guaranteed success.

I wonder if we can entice any Wii Moms over with this? They'd go all googly eyed over a vulnerable Dad trying to protect his son wouldn't they? That's why this game needs some male ass shots and not just lady boob shots.

Ahead of its time? I remember walking around in a linear environment pointing at things and doing annoying quick-time events in games ages ago.

If anything, this game is as old-school as they come. And that's why it will flop (if it will flop, I'm not convinced of that yet).

Well, on our site, it's the most sought after game for February with a majority ready to purchase it. If the faithful stick behind it, it should do well enough :)

your site has one of a hell fucked up language.

They also speak Dutch. You should know that, being a European and all.

Well, it will fail for sure, unless people buy it

Nevermind, I preordered the collector edition with the soundtrack.
If you played Nomad Soul and Fahrenheit, then you know why I want the OST

They will know Helgan belongs to Helghasts
