Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 games with good replay value?

Was thinking of picking a game or two for the PS3 but looking for games that have decent replay value. Does anyone have any recommendations?

Since the PS3 isn't my primary console (the Wii still is) I'm not in any hurry to pick up some of the new games on the system. So older games that are low in price or used are the way I'm going to go. I had planned on picking up White Knight Chronicles but I get the strange feeling that might go down in price soon so I figure I'd wait it out. Just canceled my pre-order on Amazon. I have a number of other games I'd like to finish as well and that would take up a lot of time.

Not looking for any FPS to be honest. They are fun but I'm not big into them. 3rd person shooters, action games, action rpgs, and platformers would be ideal. The only games I currently have for the system now are Infamous and Batman but those came with the system. I have rented both Resistance 1 and Killzone 2. I played through those two already and really were best rented. I did enjoy the demo for Valkyrie Chronicles though so I was thinking of getting that if it's cheap now. I have Fallout 3 for the 360 already so that isn't an option. Was thinking Oblivion but the DLC isn't avaliable for it last I checked. Anyway any help would be great. A good story is always nice as well.

Uncharted 2
inFamous [Most likely going to play twice]
God of War Collection [2 games for $29.99...]

Battlefield Bad Company 2 > Modern Warfare 2

I would get Valkyria Chronicles if you liked the demo. I didn't like the demo too much and I enjoyed the game a lot. $20 for the game is a steal.

God of War Collection is also a very good deal if you haven't gotten into the God of War series yet. Two very good games with around 20 hours of gameplay at least for $30.

inFamous is also a good choice, I think I beat it at least three times...

Little Big Planet, Demon's Souls, Oblivion (GotY is $30 or less), Fallout 3, Valkyria Chronicles, Ratchet and Clank, Uncharted 2 are just a few that you should consider.

The game that I played the most on my PS3 and I enjoyed the most so far is Demon's Souls. I spent more than 100 hours on the game. Around 35-40hours on the first play. Street Fighter IV is my second but is not an exclusive.

At some point, something must have come from nothing...

Demon's Souls has the most I'd say. You could play that forever.

WKC that's coming out tomorrow.

You could at least read more than the title before posting. He already has InFamous...

I would recommend Folklore if you could find it. As well as Demon's Souls if you are looking for a long replay value. I think waiting for WKC could be a good idea but also it might be a bad idea as Sony has a bad track record of lowering prices for games. I'd say it wont come down in price till the holiday season.

I would recommend Little Big Planet as someone else pointed out.  That game is hours of fun, and with new content always being added it's not even a "replay" game it's more like a game with a ton of free DLC.

Demon's Souls is another one that was mentioned.  I disagree with Folklore though, I got so bored with that game, and I love RPG's.

Fallout 3 and Oblivion were also mentioned, I actually bought both of those games twice for different systems as they were awesome.  Also bought Dragon Age: Origins twice as well, once for PS3 and then again for PC so I could play at work lol.

Bioshock is good for at least one second playthrough.

Unicorns ARE real - They are just fat, grey and called Rhinos

LPB, Demon's Souls and Uncharted 2
