So if I understand what he is saying right they will wait untill fall to delay it for march 2011?
Bet reminder: I bet with Tboned51 that Splatoon won't reach the 1 million shipped mark by the end of 2015. I win if he loses and I lose if I lost.

So it's Natal + Halo Reach going against Wand and GT5. This will be a huge christmas. And undoubtedly the decider.

Why should I wait THIS Long then pay $60 For a game that probably wont be much better or better at all then whats already out ? (Forza3) Might as well Wait for Forza 4! |
Why should you wait for anything! If its not any better to your mind, dont buy it. bloody simple. If you rate Forza 3, why get to upset about GT5 being delayed. The best ive got to race at the mo is Grid and Dirt2 yet im happy to wait. There are more than anough great games around at the moment.
assumption is the mother of all f**k ups
Sony is kinda dumb with this franchise, in my opinion.
Which made more money this gen: Halo or GT?
Let's see... GT -> One 4million+ seller prologue game (GT5:P) sold at a lower price, plus a possible 10 million seller (GT5)
against...
Halo -> One 11 million+ seller (Halo3), plus one 2 million+ seller RTS game (Halo Wars), plus one semi expansion pack with 6 million+ sales (Halo: ODST), plus ANOTHER possible 10 million seller (Halo Reach), plus toys, plus books, plus animations...
Mario -> Well, i could enumerate everything, but let's just say: Lots and lots of money.
Damn, Sony flagship franchise gives back so much less than the others (Mario and Halo) it's ridiculous.

well I suppose it does give back something to the fans - the hope that it might release some day...

Lol. True, but it give hope and then take it back. Give and take it back, again and again!
Well, I forgot to add GT PSP up there.. but I don't think it matters much.
By this time, they should be working on GT6 (for a 2011) release, not GT5!
what!? Gran Turismo 5? yes i heard my granddad talking about this
Has a release date OFFICIALLY been announced besides Japan (March 09, now delayed) ? If these "Delays" are making you not want the game, Then I suspect the GT5 wasn't that important to you to begin with. BTW, im sure the vast majority of GT Fans are Non-Forum goers who will buy GT5 when they see it on thd shelf.

You got it so wrong.
Is GT a series that you can release in short bursts aka milk? No. Can you release GT toys? Hell no. But what you can do with GT is set up tournaments. Famous racers from all over the world race in this GT championship thing. It's a totally different thing.
I doubt that the release date of Halo: Reach has even entered their minds. I doubt that Halo: Reach is going to be a game changer in the Others market and I doubt that GT5 will be a game changer in the U.S. market. All its going to do is likely further reinforce relative positions of strength they have in their particular favoured regions.
The reason why GT5 was delayed yet again was probably so they can execute strategy to leverage both content and media players at the same time. They want an authentically good 3D implementation to drive their TV and PS3 sales for 3D optimised content. They don't want to sell you GT5, they want to sell you GT5 + PS3 + 3D glasses + Sony 3D TV. Its an admirable goal and I wish them luck. I heard rumours that other TV manufacturers are partnering up with other companies, including Microsoft to counter this possible Sony strategy. So time will tell over the relative success.
Im not 100% bullish because I've seen their hype for leveraging their proprietary technology before. Remember the Sony TV with the memory stick? I don't think they exist anymore and their cameras are transitioning to SD.
