I doubt that the release date of Halo: Reach has even entered their minds. I doubt that Halo: Reach is going to be a game changer in the Others market and I doubt that GT5 will be a game changer in the U.S. market. All its going to do is likely further reinforce relative positions of strength they have in their particular favoured regions.

The reason why GT5 was delayed yet again was probably so they can execute strategy to leverage both content and media players at the same time. They want an authentically good 3D implementation to drive their TV and PS3 sales for 3D optimised content. They don't want to sell you GT5, they want to sell you GT5 + PS3 + 3D glasses + Sony 3D TV. Its an admirable goal and I wish them luck. I heard rumours that other TV manufacturers are partnering up with other companies, including Microsoft to counter this possible Sony strategy. So time will tell over the relative success.

Im not 100% bullish because I've seen their hype for leveraging their proprietary technology before. Remember the Sony TV with the memory stick? I don't think they exist anymore and their cameras are transitioning to SD.
