Plus the hack Geohot released couldn't accomplish anything in particular, let alone pirate games since he didn't hack that part of the system plus the exploit only works on phat PS3s
...and obviously its quite easy to set up your Playstation to run them!

You were able to make copies of PS3 games a long time ago, it's just the PS3 won't be able to actually play them
And Final Fantasy versus XIII lol
Oh my god, they've done it, they've really done it, they've made a copy of a Bluray game, for a console that can't be hacked to PLAY pirated games an... oh, wait, what's that?
... Do I see Final Fantasy Versus XIII in there? The game that is nowhere near release? I wonder how they got that...
Damn, I bet they make tons selling blank Bluray discs in plastic wallets with a cheaply printed "cover"... I could start doing that, and actually persuade people they're the real deal...
This is sony's move, they will sell more consoles by this way, but it will be a low blow for all the software companies, the heck with that they survived PS2 piracy era, I'm totally looking forward to "test" this new stuff.

if it is pure unprotected software hack then yeah sony can cover it with a firmware update.
but if it is a hardware then sony can't do alot about it like modchips in PS2 or 360 these days.

its nothing like that.the only thing the hacker said that he has been able to gain access to the main memory and that u can access it the PS3 by an external OS.
it wasn't final.
alot of hackers can develop external OS programs to run on the PS3 so the memory can be accesed and if you see on the PSP,hackers have developed custom firmware to hack into it.
so it isn't that it can't be on the PS3 SLIM,it will need some work.
Modchip with an external OS is also an option.
